5. In the RsAlmLogExpServ Properties dialog box, click the Identity<br />

tab.<br />

6. If you are using a mapped network drive, click ‘The interactive<br />

user’ and then click OK.<br />

If you are using a network share or UNC path, click ‘This user’, and<br />

then type the name and password of a user that has access to the<br />

network path and database. This applies to step 9 as well.<br />

7. In the Applications list, click RsAlmLogService Class and then<br />

click Properties.<br />

8. In the RsAlmLogService Class Properties dialog box, click the<br />

Identity tab.<br />

9. Follow the directions for step 6.<br />

10. Click OK and then restart the computer.<br />

IMPORTANT<br />

When using the DCOM setting ‘This user’, if the<br />

password requires periodic changes, this DCOM setting<br />

must be modified manually to reflect the changes.<br />

To change the security account of the alarm log program<br />

files in Windows XP (SP1)<br />

1. On the computer on which alarm monitoring will run, click the<br />

Windows Start button, and then click Run.<br />

2. In the Open box, type dcomcnfg, and then press Enter.<br />

3. In the left-hand side of the Component Services window, doubleclick<br />

Component Services, double-click the Computers folder,<br />

double-click My Computer, and then double-click DCOM Config.<br />

If DCOM Configuration Warning messages appear, click No for<br />

each one.<br />
