dispensation and the events and/or competitions for which it was<br />

granted shall be recorded in the minutes of the meeting at which it<br />

was considered.<br />

64.4.16 have the authority to grant, or to delegate the authority to grant,<br />

temporary membership to the participants in a specified event or<br />

series of events and, if required, temporary affiliation to the<br />

promoting body under Regulation 56.<br />

64.4.17 from time to time define low level competitions for the purposes of<br />

the exemption from the requirement for registration and inclusion<br />

in Category Two of membership as set out in Law 35 and Regulation<br />

321.<br />

COMMITTEES<br />

65 General restrictions on membership<br />

65.1 With the exception of the Audit and Probity Committee, only persons who<br />

are members of the <strong>ASA</strong> shall be eligible to be a voting member of any<br />

decision making Committee appointed in accordance with Law 21.<br />

65.2 No person who receives any remuneration for any full time employment by<br />

British <strong>Swimming</strong>, the Scottish <strong>ASA</strong>, the Welsh <strong>ASA</strong> or the <strong>ASA</strong> or any of its<br />

Regions shall be eligible to be a voting member of any decision making<br />

Committee appointed in accordance with Law 21. For the purposes of this<br />

section, full time employment shall be defined as remunerated employment<br />

under a contract of service for not less than 35 hours per week.<br />

66 Audit and Probity Committee<br />

66.1 <strong>The</strong> Committee as set out in this Regulation 66 shall cover the activities of<br />

both the <strong>ASA</strong> and British <strong>Swimming</strong> and shall report to both Boards.<br />

66.2 Membership<br />

66.2.1 <strong>The</strong> membership of the Committee shall comprise:<br />

66.2.1.1 No more than three members appointed by the <strong>ASA</strong><br />

Board who shall:<br />

66.2.1.1.1 not be members of either the <strong>ASA</strong> or British<br />

<strong>Swimming</strong> Boards;<br />

66.2.1.1.2 hold office for three years;<br />

66.2.1.1.3 have been nominated through a process of<br />

open recruitment.<br />

Only one member shall normally be appointed under this<br />

Regulation 66.2.1.1 each year.<br />

Note A transitional arrangement for the appointments up to 2011<br />

will be determined to introduce the required sequence of<br />

appointments set out in Regulation 66.2.1.1.<br />

66.2.1.2 One person, who is not a member of the British<br />

<strong>Swimming</strong> Board, appointed by the <strong>ASA</strong> Board from<br />

among its members for a term of office of two years or<br />

until he ceases to fulfil both conditions whichever period<br />

is the shorter;<br />

66.2.1.3 One person, who is not a member of the <strong>ASA</strong> Board,<br />

appointed by the British <strong>Swimming</strong> Board from among its<br />

members for a term of office of two years or until he ceases<br />

to fulfil both conditions whichever period is the shorter;<br />
