Energy-Saving Pumps
Wilo-Star-E, Wilo-TOP-E, TOP-ED
Wilo-TOP-E/-ED Series
The world’s first electronically controlled circulating pump with
standard integrated display screen and manual control panel (single
button operation). It comes as standard with the unique, patented
“Autopilot” automatic setback control facility based on the latest
cutting-edge Fuzzy technology.
Without the need for external switchgears, automatic stepless differential-pressure
control offers:
- Energy savings of up to 50 % and thus reduced operating costs and
reduced CO 2 emissions
- Elimination of noises from thermostatic valves.
The Wilo-TOP-E Series covers the entire performance range from
Rp 1 to DN 100 and is suitable for a fluid temperature of up to
T max =110°C.
Manual operation
The manual operating panel serves to parameterise the basic functions
of Wilo-TOP-E/-ED pumps:
- On/Off control
- Control mode (p-c, p-v, manual control mode)
- Differential pressure setpoint
- Automatic setback to minimum speed
- Twin-head pump function (main/standby or parallel operation)
All operating states as well as a wide range of fault and alarm signals
(fault signals result in immediate shutdown) are indicated directly in
the standard series pump display.
Control operation
Stepless differential pressure control according to the pre-set setpoint
value. Combined operating and display panel directly on the
terminal box for:
- selection of different control modes
- setpoint adjustment in m (the lower setpoint value is 1 m)
- indication of the actual operating condition on a graphical display
- logging of fault and alarm signals.
Control mode p-c
In the p-c control mode, the electronics circuitry maintains the differential
pressure generated by the pump constant at the setpoint
value Hs over the permitted flow-rate range.
Control mode p-c
Control mode p-v
In the p-v control mode, the electronic circuitry varies the differential
pressure to be maintained by the pump on a linear basis between
Hs and 1 2 s. The setpoint differential-pressure value H varies with the
flow volume Q.
Control technology
The single and three-phase motors of the Wilo-TOP-S Series serve as
the basis for the Wilo-TOP-E Series, the latter utilising the optimised
hydraulics and motor design of the Wilo-TOP-S Series.
