brown or purple on <strong>the</strong> opposite side, sometimes depressed<br />

above ; sori subrotund, aggregate ; epidermis soon bursting ;<br />

spores globose or subglobose, echinulate, bright ochraceousyellow.<br />

— On <strong>the</strong> under surface of Bramble-leaves. July and<br />

August. Very common. (Plate III. fig. 40.)<br />

scattered ; spores sub-oval, sometimes minutely pedicellate,<br />

sori subrotund, small, scattered, surrounded by <strong>the</strong><br />

ruptured epidermis; barren spores pyriform or subglobose, pedicellate<br />

fertile spores subglobose, orange. — On <strong>the</strong> under surface<br />

of <strong>the</strong> leaves of various species of Euphorbia, especially E.<br />

Iielioscopia and E. peplus. August. Very common.<br />

roundisn, scattered, at first tawny, at length growing pale, surrounded<br />

by <strong>the</strong> ruptured epidermis ; spores subrotund and pyriform.—<br />

On <strong>the</strong> under surface of Willow-leaves.<br />

Lecy<strong>the</strong>a mixta, Lev. Orange Willow Rust; spots<br />

yellow ;<br />

sori subrotund, aggregate, cotifluent, effuse, permanently<br />

surrounded by <strong>the</strong> raptured epiderm.is • spores oblong and pyriform,<br />

orange.—On both surfaces of <strong>the</strong> leaves of Willows.
