bursting; spores oblong or globose, yellow.—On leaves and<br />

sheaths of Corn and Grasses. Summer. Common. (Plate VII.<br />

figs. 143, 144.)<br />

Trichobasis Glumarum, Lev. Glume Rust; sori minute,<br />

round, scarcely convex, subgregarious, often confluent. Spores<br />

globose or subovoid, orange, not pedicellate ; epispore smooth.<br />

— On <strong>the</strong> glumes of Cereals. August.<br />

Trichobasis Symphyti, Lev. Comfrey Rust ;<br />

Sori<br />

minute, very numerous, scattered, roundish, <strong>the</strong>n confluent;<br />

epidermis ruptured, scarcely conspicuous around <strong>the</strong> margin ;<br />

Trichobasis Senecionis, B. Groundsel Rust; spots<br />

obliterated; sori solitary or regularly crowded, subrotund and<br />

oval, on <strong>the</strong> under surface, surrounded by <strong>the</strong> ruptured epidermis;<br />

spores subglobose, orange. — On various species of Groundsel.<br />

July. Very common. (Plate VII. figs. 145, 146.)<br />

oval, minute, scattered, surrounded by <strong>the</strong> ruptured epidermis ;<br />

on both sides of <strong>the</strong> leaf, dark, fuscous, minute, — round, scattered :<br />

spores globose, rarely minutely pedicellate. On Thistles and<br />

Hawkweed. July to September. Common.
