NATURAL STONE WORKS<br />
Contractor must submit two sets of each type of stone, full size units as selected by the Supervising<br />
Engineer to the project site, in sufficient number to indicate the full range of color, texture and each type of<br />
the full range of color, texture and each type of finish. One of each of the duplicate samples approved by<br />
the Engineer, the other being returned to the stone supplier ,for his guidance. Colors and types of stone –<br />
dressings are as mentioned under part 2- Products, paragraph B, "Stone Schedule".<br />
The following physical data on all proposed stone shall be submitted y the supplier :-<br />
1. Analysis of mineral composition .<br />
2. Analysis of chemical composition .<br />
3. Thermal sufficient of expansion .<br />
4. Absorption<br />
5. Specific Gravity .<br />
6. Modulus of Rupture<br />
7. Abrasion Resistance .<br />
Anchors : Two of each type to be incorporated in the work .<br />
Submit samples of other materials specified herein upon request by the Engineer .<br />
2 MOCK UP<br />
1. Furnish and install a typical stone wall, application required for the project at area designated by the<br />
Engineer. The panel shall be constructed for Engineer's approval showing 2.0m long x 1.5m high for wall<br />
installation . Wall installation shall include a corner condition indicating a jamb, sill, lintel and coping<br />
stones, etc., as shall be instructed by the Supervising Engineer.<br />
2. All work shall include setting and jointing of all stone including final cleaning as specified here in for<br />
the actual work and as required for approval Construct as many mock-ups until approval by the Engineer<br />
has obtained .<br />
3. The approved mock-up shall constitute the quality of work to be expected throughout the entire project,<br />
and shall remain in place for visual inspection until no longer needed as directed by the Engineer. The<br />
removal and disposition of the moc-ups shall be done by the Contractor at his expense without additional<br />
cost to the owner .<br />
GUARANTEE / WARRANTY<br />
Attention is directed to the provisions of the CONDITIONS OF THE CONTRACT regarding guarantees /<br />
warranties for the Work .<br />
All warranties / guarantees to be issued by the Supplier, Manufacturers and sub-contractors shall be<br />
counter-signed by Main Contractor and both of them will be liable for repair / replace the items / works,<br />
etc., during the warrantee / guarantee period.<br />
STANDARDS<br />
A. Applicable provisions of the following standard publications shall apply throughout the work :<br />
1. Building stone Institute : "Recommended Practices for the use of Natural Stones in Building<br />
Constructions" .<br />
