or ENGL 0510 and MATH 0920 (or<br />

Students acquire intermediate word<br />

processing skills including mail merge<br />

concepts, integrating contact list, creating<br />

text special effects, and developing<br />

charts. Prerequisite: Completion of CMAP<br />

1700 or instructor approval.<br />

Students acquire advanced word processing<br />

skills including creating online forms;<br />

writing macros; developing master documents,<br />

Word Processing IV:<br />

Word processing essential level skills will<br />

be presented in a semester-long course.<br />

Students use word processing software<br />

Adobe Acrobat I<br />

In this course, students develop the skills<br />

necessary to create, edit, and distribute<br />

PDF documents for business, Web, and<br />

educational purposes. Successful students<br />

learn to create original PDF documents<br />

as well as create them from other<br />

applications including Microsoft Word,<br />

Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.<br />

Adobe Acrobat II<br />

In this course, students develop the<br />

skills necessary to use advanced Acrobat<br />

features, including edit tracking and comment<br />

features, adding digital signatures<br />

and document security to PDF files,<br />

optimizing PDF documents to meet government<br />

accessibility standards for use<br />

on the World Wide Web, and conducting<br />

online meetings.<br />

Adobe Acrobat III<br />

In this course, students develop the skills<br />

necessary to create, edit, and distribute<br />

PDF forms with editable fields in a<br />

Web-accessible format, add multimedia<br />

elements to PDF documents, and create<br />

Spreadsheet Applications I:<br />

Students are provided with a basic<br />

understanding of spreadsheet applications.<br />

Students learn how to use spreadsheet<br />

commands to build and maintain<br />

spreadsheets using a popular electronic<br />

spreadsheet program. Prerequisites:<br />

Completion of DVST 0510 or ENGL 0510<br />

and MATH 0920 (or equivalent placement<br />

Spreadsheet Applications II:<br />

This course provides students with<br />

a more thorough understanding of<br />

spreadsheet applications. Topics covered<br />

include advanced printing, graphics and<br />

functions, data tables, data query, file<br />

operations, and macros. Prerequisite:<br />

Completion of CMAP 1750 or equivalent<br />

preparation.<br />

CMAP 1760<br />

Spreadsheet Applications III:<br />

Students develop advanced skills,<br />

beyond skills taught in CMAP 1755, to<br />

create spreadsheets. Emphasis is on<br />

business applications. Students learn to<br />

create advanced data tables, modeling<br />

using scenario manager, solve complex<br />

problems, import data from other applications,<br />

create and use advanced macros,<br />

and write simple Visual Basic for applications.<br />

Prerequisite: Completion of CMAP<br />

1755 or equivalent preparation.<br />

Database Applications I:<br />

A study of the techniques used in file<br />

organization, storage, and retrieval using<br />

a popular database management system.<br />

preparation and DVST 0520 or ENGL<br />
