Communication<br />
The communication program of study prepares students to<br />
reach their potential as citizens, scholars, and professionals<br />
through the development of communication competence<br />
at both the theoretical and applied levels. The focus is on<br />
how people create messages to generate meanings within<br />
and across various contexts, cultures, and channels of<br />
communication. Debate and forensics are integral applied<br />
skills offered in the program. Courses are designed for student<br />
transfer to four-year institutions.<br />
Nonspeech majors may wish to study in the<br />
communication area for self-improvement or for theoretical<br />
familiarity.<br />

The computer information systems program is specifically<br />
designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in<br />
fields related to Information Technology. The options listed<br />
below offer flexibility in meeting students’ career needs. These<br />
