General Information<br />
The <strong>College</strong><br />
<strong>Laramie</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>College</strong> was created by the voters<br />
on May 21, 1968, to help fill the need for academic, career and<br />
community service/continuing education in the county. Courses<br />
are offered that reflect the skills and knowledge required to<br />
function in a world that makes ever increasing demands upon<br />
the individual. The college is dedicated to helping individuals<br />
prepare for careers, enjoy community life and enrich leisure<br />
time by providing continuing educational experiences.<br />
To achieve these ends, <strong>Laramie</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Community</strong><br />
<strong>College</strong> provides programs in the following instructional<br />
areas: academic, preparing students for transfer to four-year<br />
institutions; career education, training students in programs<br />
up to two years in length to enter the world of work; and<br />
community education, consisting of noncredit courses and<br />
offering courses of general information, cultural opportunities,<br />
and professional and personal growth.<br />
<strong>Laramie</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>College</strong> strives to be an<br />
educational institution for all people—whether they want<br />
to gain personal enrichment through a program of general<br />
education, to obtain a certificate of high school equivalency,<br />
to develop skills in a technical program, or to begin a college<br />
career leading to a bachelor’s or higher degree.<br />

<strong>Laramie</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>College</strong> occupies facilities situated<br />
on a 271-acre campus. The site is immediately southeast<br />
of Cheyenne. Primary access routes to the college are <strong>College</strong><br />
Drive, connecting to Interstate 25 west of <strong>LCCC</strong>, and South<br />
<strong>College</strong> Drive, connecting to Interstate 80 northeast of <strong>LCCC</strong>.<br />
Numerous off-campus facilities are also utilized.<br />
The main campus consists of 21 buildings. Built with<br />
financing provided by bond issues approved in 1971, 1979,<br />
1989, and 2006, along with state and federal mineral funds and<br />
supplemented by revenue bonds issued through the <strong>LCCC</strong><br />
Foundation, new facilities have allowed the college to expand<br />
many programs and activities.<br />

The Albany <strong>County</strong> Campus (ACC) of <strong>LCCC</strong> is a dynamic learning<br />
center extending the lifelong educational opportunities of<br />
a community college to the citizens of Albany <strong>County</strong>. Numerous<br />
degree programs, both career education and academic/<br />
transfer, are available through the ACC. In addition to degree<br />
programs, the ACC offers a wide variety of credit courses to<br />
help students prepare for college, complete general education<br />
requirements, or enrich their personal lives.<br />
The Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) provides day and<br />
evening instruction in Adult Basic Education (ABE), General Educational<br />
Development (GED)/Adult Secondary Education (ASE),<br />
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), citizenship<br />
preparation, literacy, and functional academic skills. Basic job<br />
skills such as résumé writing, interviewing, interpersonal skills,<br />
and basic computer literacy are available for all students. The TLC<br />
also provides assistance with job searches. Students may begin<br />
TLC classes at any time during the school year. Individual instruction<br />
(tutors) may be available to students. Programs at the Teaching<br />
and Learning Center are designed to help adults improve their<br />
functional skills in reading, writing, mathematics, English, social<br />
studies, science, and computer literacy.<br />
The Albany <strong>County</strong> Campus provides its students with<br />
support services similar to those available to the Cheyenne<br />
