Introduction to Industrial Math<br />

Students add, subtract, multiply, divide,<br />

and convert decimals, percentages,<br />

and fractions; and solve for unknown<br />

quantities with a focus on how they<br />

can use these mathematical principles<br />

and operations in an industrial setting.<br />

Students complete all course outcomes<br />

in an open-entry/open-exit, self-paced<br />

format. They must successfully complete<br />

this course or score at least 80 percent<br />

on the pretest before attempting any of<br />

the core courses in the Integrated Systems<br />

Technology certificate program.<br />

Introduction to Industrial Tools<br />

Students identify, explain, and demonstrate<br />

the safe handling and use of<br />

industrial hand and power tools. They<br />

also select and install industrial fasteners.<br />

Students complete all course<br />

outcomes in an open-entry/open-exit,<br />

self-paced format. They must successfully<br />

complete this course or score at least 80<br />

percent on the pretest before attempting<br />

any of the core courses for the Integrated<br />

Students identify sources of, organize,<br />

and describe safety rules, regulations,<br />

and practices related to job-site hazards,<br />

self-paced format. This course is a core<br />

requirement of the Integrated Systems<br />

Students interpret information and<br />

in today’s workplace. They explore<br />

reading, writing, listening, speaking,<br />

computer, and relationship skills as<br />

well as discuss how to address workplace<br />

issues. They complete all course<br />

outcomes in an open-entry/open-exit,<br />

self-paced format. This course is a core<br />

requirement for the Integrated Systems<br />

Technology certificate program. Prerequisite:<br />

and Computer-Aided Drafting<br />

Students identify and explain the types<br />

AutoCAD software commands to create<br />

components, symbols, and dimensions.<br />

They complete all course outcomes in an<br />

open-entry/open-exit, self-paced format.<br />

This course is a core requirement for the<br />

Integrated Systems Technology certificate<br />

program. Prerequisite: Completion of or<br />

score of at least 80 percent on the pretest<br />

Fundamentals of<br />

Industrial Piping Systems<br />

Students identify safety rules, regulations,<br />

selection criteria, preparation<br />

requirements, and maintenance actions<br />

for metal pipe, plastic pipe, metal<br />

tubing, and related equipment. They<br />

complete all course outcomes in an<br />

open-entry/open-exit, self-paced format.<br />

Students can concurrently enroll in IST<br />

1551 to apply the topics of this course<br />

in a hands-on environment. Prerequisite:<br />

Completion of or score at least 80<br />

percent on the pretest for IST 1500 and<br />

Fundamentals of Fluid Power<br />

Students identify and explain safety<br />

procedures, common components, and<br />

operating principles for hydraulic and<br />

self-paced format. Students can<br />

the topics of this course in a hands-on<br />

Fluid Power Circuits<br />

Students select, prepare, perform<br />

maintenance on, and demonstrate<br />

hydraulic and pneumatic components.<br />

to these skills before attempting to<br />

perform any maintenance actions. They<br />

complete all course outcomes in an<br />

Fundamentals of Mechanical Drives<br />

Students identify and explain the<br />

safety rules, regulations, test procedures,<br />

installation, removal, and operation of<br />

belt drives, chain drives, and mechanical<br />

couplings. They complete all course<br />

outcomes in an open-entry/open-exit,<br />

self-paced format. Students can concurrently<br />

enroll in IST 1651 to apply the<br />

topics of this course in a hands-on environment.<br />

Mechanical Drive Installations<br />

Students install belt drives, install chain<br />

drives, and install/remove mechanical<br />

couplings. Participants must have a thorough<br />

requirements for mechanical drives.<br />

They complete all course outcomes in an<br />

1653 to apply the topics of this course in<br />

Installation and Removal<br />

Students install and remove plain, ball,<br />

and roller bearings. Participants must<br />

outcomes in an open-entry/open-exit,<br />

self-paced format. Prerequisite: Completion<br />
