Popcorn Sale
The Popcorn Sale is off to a great start.
Reports from one boy is that he sold over
$500 in the first weekend. Door-to-Door
show and Deliver has been very successful.
Remember the sale end s Nov. 2nd. Cindy
Hillyard and Todd McDonald will work to
set meetings with each unit Selling. If you

Every Boy Deserves a Trained
Leader
The BSA offers training to help orient
leaders in their role, provide essential resources,
and inspire adults to give the best
program they can. Your boys will benefit
from the training you receive. You will
have a much stronger impact on their lives.
Wapiti District has prepared two dates for
Training in October. On October 4th, Wapiti
District will conduct New Leaders Essentials
Training from 8 AM to 11 AM at Tualatin
United Methodist Church 20200 SW
Martinazzi Ave Tualatin, OR 97062. This
training is required for all leaders. Cub
Scout Leaders and parents should plan on
staying from Noon to 4PM on October 4th
for Leader Specific Training. This training
will break out into sessions for Cubmasters,
Pack Committee, Tiger Leaders, Wolf Leaders,
Bear Leaders and Webelos Leaders.
Saturday October 11th Boy Scout Leaders
Specific I,II,III, Varsity specific, and Venturing
specific Training, from 8am-3pm will be
held at Tualatin United Methodist Church.Finally,
Boy Scout Leaders and Varsity Leaders
should plan on attending the Outdoor
Leader Skills Training overnight on October
30 – November 1st at Browns Ferry Community
Center in Tualatin Oregon. If these
dates do not work for you there are many
other trainings happening in our area. If

Charter Renewal to be completed
by November Roundtable
Every year each boy, adult, and chartered
organization must re-register with the
Boy Scouts of America. This process may be
very simple or it may be long and drawn out.
If you are a COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN you
are about to enter into this process. Each
unit should plan to have this process completed
in November. Plan on picking up your
packet at October Roundtable and returning
it completed at the November Roundtable.

Scouting for Food
December 6th is Scouting for Food Day,
a terrific service project for any unit. This is
a Good Turn for America project, so your
Scouts will qualify for two patches: a Scouting
for Food segment (free), and the Good
Turn for America patch (from Scout Stores).

Plan Now for Pow-Wow!
The biggest Cub Scout adult event of the
year will happen Nov 15th…All Cub Scout
adults will enjoy the Pow-Wow! Adults get to
re-learn fun stuff like crafts, songs, skits, and
get ideas for making their own kids’ meetings
fun and interesting. Be sure to put this
on your own calendar, and on your pack and
den calendars. Everyone goes away with a
jam-packed computer CD with lots of resource
materials as well! Find the registration
form at roundtable or visit www.cpcbsa.org.
Be A Friend of Scouting Pacesetter
Blessed art those who get things done
early. Your Unit can be a Pacesetter by
coming to the Pacesetter Kickoff at the December
Roundtable. You must RSVP to Todd
McDonald to insure that your unit is enrolled
in the Pacesetter Challenge. This means you
will have everything you need in December
to start your FOS efforts.
