AQR Capital Management, LLC and CNH Partners, LLC: Diversified Arbitrage Segment. The portfolio managers of AQR<br />

responsible for oversight of the diversified arbitrage segment of the Academic Strategies <strong>Portfolio</strong> are Ronen Israel and Lars<br />

Nielsen. The portfolio managers of CNH responsible for the oversight of the diversified arbitrage segment of the Academic<br />

Strategies <strong>Portfolio</strong> are Mark Mitchell, PhD and Todd Pulvino, PhD. Their respective biographies are provided below.<br />

Lars Nielsen is a Principal of AQR. Prior to joining AQR in 2000, he was an Analyst in the Quantitative Research Group of Danske<br />

Invest. Mr. Nielsen holds a BSc and a MSc in Economics from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark.<br />

Ronen Israel is a Principal of AQR. Prior to joining AQR in 1999, he was a Senior Analyst at Quantitative Financial Strategies, Inc.<br />

Mr. Israel holds a BS in Economics from the Wharton School and a BAS in Biomedical Science from the University of<br />

Pennsylvania, and an M.A. in Mathematics from Columbia University.<br />

Mark Mitchell, PhD is a co-founder and principal of CNH. Prior to co-founding CNH, Dr. Mitchell was a finance professor at<br />

University of Chicago (1990-1999) and Harvard University (1999-2003). Dr. Mitchell holds a PhD in Economics from Clemson<br />

University and BBA in Economics from University of Louisiana at Monroe.<br />

Todd Pulvino, PhD is a co-founder and principal of CNH. Prior to co-founding CNH, Dr. Pulvino was a member of the finance<br />

faculty of Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and at Harvard Business School. Dr. Pulvino holds PhD and<br />

AM degrees in Business Economics from Harvard University, an MS in Mechanical Engineering from the California Institute of<br />

Technology, and a BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Wisconsin-Madison.<br />

J.P. Morgan Investment Management, Inc.: Long/Short Market Neutral Segment. Terance Chen, managing director, is a portfolio<br />

manager in the U.S. Equity Group. An employee since 1994, Terance is responsible for the management of several long/short<br />

strategies, including Research Market Neutral, Research 130/30, and Research Total Return. He is also part of the portfolio<br />

management team for the Research Enhanced Index (REI) strategies. Prior to his current position, Terance was a quantitative equity<br />

research analyst. Terance holds a BS in finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business and is a CFA charter holder.<br />

<strong>AST</strong> Advanced Strategies <strong>Portfolio</strong><br />

Marsico Segment. Thomas F. Marsico is the Chief Investment Officer of Marsico, and co-manages the Marsico segment of the <strong>AST</strong><br />

Advanced Strategies <strong>Portfolio</strong>. Mr. Marsico has over 30 years of experience as a securities analyst and a portfolio manager.<br />

A. Douglas Rao co-manages the Marsico segment of the <strong>AST</strong> Advanced Strategies <strong>Portfolio</strong>. Mr. Rao, who is also a senior analyst,<br />

joined Marsico in 2005 and has over 10 years of experience as a securities analyst. Prior to joining Marsico, Mr. Rao spent more<br />

than four years at Trust Company of the West (“TCW”) where he was a Senior Vice President and Financial Services Analyst for<br />

U.S. equities. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the University of<br />

California, Los Angeles.<br />

Coralie Witter, CFA co-manages the Marsico segment of the <strong>AST</strong> Advanced Strategies <strong>Portfolio</strong>. Ms. Witter, who is also a senior<br />

analyst, joined Marsico in June 2004 and has over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry, most of which has<br />

involved equity research. Prior to joining Marsico, Ms. Witter spent six years with Goldman, Sachs & Co., where she was a Vice<br />

President in Equity Research. Ms. Witter graduated from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor’s degree in<br />

International Affairs.<br />

T. Rowe Price Segment. T. Rowe Price manages the portion of the <strong>Portfolio</strong> managed by T. Rowe Price through an Investment<br />

Advisory Committee. The Committee Chairman has day-to-day responsibility for managing the <strong>Portfolio</strong> and works with the<br />

Committee in developing and executing the <strong>Portfolio</strong>’s investment program.<br />

Brian Rogers, Mark Finn, and John Linehan are responsible for the day-to-day management of the portion of the <strong>Portfolio</strong> managed<br />

by T. Rowe Price.<br />

Brian Rogers is the Chief Investment Officer of T. Rowe Price Group, Inc. In addition he manages major institutional equity<br />

portfolios and serves as President of the Equity Income Fund. He serves on the Board of Directors of T. Rowe Price Group and is a<br />

member of the Management Committee. His other responsibilities include serving on the Equity, Fixed-income, International, and<br />

Asset Allocation committees. Prior to joining the firm in 1982, Brian was employed by Bankers Trust Company. He earned an AB<br />

from Harvard College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.<br />
