Ahrens is a portfolio manager for the <strong>AST</strong> Tactical Asset Allocation <strong>Portfolio</strong>s and Senior Vice President and Head of the Strategic<br />

Investment Research Group of <strong>Prudential</strong> Investments. He focuses on portfolio risk oversight, manager fulfillment, and the<br />

allocation of assets among managers. Mr. Ahrens oversees a staff of 17 investment professionals who focus on investment<br />

consulting, portfolio construction, and risk oversight activities. Mr. Ahrens has been with <strong>Prudential</strong> for over 15 years. Mr. Ahrens<br />

earned his MBA in Finance from the Stern School of Business at New York University. He graduated from James Madison<br />

University with a double major in Finance and German. He is series 7, series 24 and series 63 certified, CIMA certified, and holds<br />

the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.<br />

<strong>AST</strong> CLS Moderate Asset Allocation <strong>Portfolio</strong><br />

CLS utilizes a team approach for setting target asset allocations and selecting Underlying ETFs for the <strong>AST</strong> Moderate Asset<br />

Allocation <strong>Portfolio</strong> as described in this Prospectus, and from the team the <strong>Portfolio</strong> is assigned a lead and co-manager. The CLS<br />

portfolio management team includes: J.J.Schenkelberg CFA and Scott Kubie CFA.<br />

Ms. Schenkelberg, Senior <strong>Portfolio</strong> Manager of CLS, is primarily responsible for the day to day management of the portfoio. Ms.<br />

Schenkelberg joined CLS in 2004. She received an MBA from Creighton University.<br />

Mr. Kubie has worked for CLS since March 2001 as Chief Strategist with CLS and its predecessor. Mr. Kubie also teaches Principles<br />

of Investments at the University of Nebraska—Omaha.<br />

<strong>AST</strong> Horizon Growth Asset Allocation <strong>Portfolio</strong> & <strong>AST</strong> Horizon Moderate Asset Allocation <strong>Portfolio</strong><br />

The portfolio managers primarily responsible for setting target asset allocations and selecting Underlying ETFs for the <strong>AST</strong> Horizon<br />

Growth Asset Allocation <strong>Portfolio</strong> and the <strong>AST</strong> Horizon Moderate Asset Allocation <strong>Portfolio</strong> as described in this Prospectus are<br />

Robert J. Cannon, and Jeffrey J. Roach, PhD.<br />

Mr. Cannon is President, CEO, Co-Founder and Managing Member of Horizon. He is a graduate of Furman University. Mr. Roach<br />

joined Horizon in 2006 and is Chief Economist at Horizon. He is a graduate of Bob Jones University and Clemson University.<br />

<strong>AST</strong> T. Rowe Price Asset Allocation <strong>Portfolio</strong><br />

The <strong>Portfolio</strong> has an Investment Advisory Committee that has day-to-day responsibility for managing the <strong>Portfolio</strong> and developing<br />

and executing the <strong>Portfolio</strong>’s investment program. Charles M. Shriver, CFA is Chairman of the Investment Advisory Committee and<br />

is responsible for implementing and monitoring the <strong>Portfolio</strong>’s overall investment strategy, as well as the allocation of the<br />

<strong>Portfolio</strong>’s assets. Charles Shriver is a Vice President of T. Rowe Price and a <strong>Portfolio</strong> Manager within the Asset Allocation Group.<br />

He has been with the firm since 1991.<br />

Ken D. Uematsu, CFA is a Vice President of T. Rowe Price and a portfolio manager and quantitative analyst in the<br />

U.S. Quantitative Equity Group. He is responsible for the <strong>Portfolio</strong>’s U.S. small cap equity investments. Ken joined the firm in<br />

1997 as a portfolio assistant in the Fixed Income Division and later moved to the position of investment liaison. In 2000, he joined<br />

the Equity Division as an associate research analyst.<br />

Raymond A. Mills, Ph.D., CFA is a Vice President of T. Rowe Price and T. Rowe Price International, and is responsible for making<br />

recommendations regarding the <strong>Portfolio</strong>’s foreign equity holdings. Prior to joining the firm in 1997 he was a Principal Systems<br />

Engineer on large space systems with The Analytic Sciences Corporation.<br />

Daniel O. Shackelford, CFA, is a Vice President of T. Rowe Price and chairman of the firm’s Fixed Income Strategy Committee. He<br />

is responsible for making recommendations regarding the <strong>Portfolio</strong>’s high grade bond investments. Prior to joining the firm in<br />

1999, Dan was the principal and head of fixed income for Investment Counselors of Maryland. The <strong>Portfolio</strong>’s U.S. large cap<br />

equity investments are selected based on a research-driven strategy utilizing the investment recommendations of a group of the<br />

firm’s equity research analysts.<br />

Anna Dopkin, CFA, is a Vice President of T. Rowe Price, Co-Director of U.S. Equity Research and a member of the firm’s Equity<br />

Steering Committee. Anna is responsible for implementing the <strong>Portfolio</strong>’s overall strategy. Prior to joining the firm in 1996, Ms.<br />

Dopkin worked at Goldman Sachs in its Mortgage Securities Department in New York and London.<br />

Paul A. Karpers, CFA is a Vice President of T. Rowe Price and a high yield portfolio manager in the Fixed Income Division. He is<br />

responsible for the <strong>Portfolio</strong>’s investments in high-yield securities. Prior to joining the firm in 1994, Paul was with the Vanguard<br />

Group in Philadelphia.<br />
