Sean is Co-CIO and portfolio manager of the US <strong>Value</strong> Equity Team, where he oversees the portfolio management and investment<br />

research efforts for the firm’s US value equity accounts. Sean has 19 years of industry experience and has been a member of the<br />

US <strong>Value</strong> Equity team since 2000. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, he spent 6 years as a research analyst at Merrill Lynch Asset<br />

Management focusing on technology, telecomm and REITs. Sean received a BS in Finance from Drexel University and an MBA in<br />

Finance and Accounting from the Stern School of Business at New York University.<br />

John Arege, CFA<br />

Managing Director, <strong>Portfolio</strong> Manager<br />

John is a portfolio manager on the US <strong>Value</strong> Equity Team, where he has broad research responsibilities across the value strategies.<br />

John joined the <strong>Value</strong> team in 2007 as a <strong>Portfolio</strong> Manager. He joined GSAM in 2006, as a <strong>Portfolio</strong> Manager on the Core Equity<br />

team, from Merrill Lynch Investment Managers where he was a senior analyst on the <strong>Value</strong> team and was responsible for the<br />

energy and financial services sectors. Prior to that, John worked for Standard and Poor’s in New York. He received his BA from<br />

Catholic University and a Masters in Finance from Boston University. John also holds a law degree and is a CFA Charterholder.<br />

Charles “Brook” Dane, CFA<br />

Vice President, <strong>Portfolio</strong> Manager<br />

Brook is a portfolio manager on the US <strong>Value</strong> Equity Team, where he has broad research responsibilities across the value<br />

strategies. Before joining GSAM, Brook was a Senior Vice President at Putnam Investments with research and portfolio<br />

management responsibilities for the technology portion of their large cap strategies. Prior to that, he was an Associate at Dane,<br />

Falb, Stone & Co. Brook has 20 years of industry experience. He received a BA in History from Tufts University and an MBA from<br />

the University of California,Walter A. Haas School of Business.<br />

Steven M. Barry<br />

Managing Director; Chief Investment Officer of Fundamental Equity;Chief Investment Officer of the Growth Team<br />

Steve is Chief Investment Officer of Fundamental Equity, responsible for the overall business management of the global<br />

Fundamental Equity franchise. He is Chief Investment Officer of the Growth Team, where he is responsible for the portfolio<br />

management and investment research process of the firm’s US Growth strategies. Steve has 24 26 years of investment experience.<br />

He joined Goldman Sachs in 1999 as a vice president, was named managing director in 2001 and partner in 2004. Prior to<br />

joining the firm, Steve spent 11 years as a vice president at Alliance Capital Management. He began his career as an associate at<br />

E.F. Hutton. Steve earned a BA in Mathematics and Economics from Boston College in 1985. Steve currently serves as an advisory<br />

board member at Boston College’s Center for Asset Management.<br />

Scott G. Kolar, CFA<br />

Managing Director; Chairman of the Investment Committee; Co-Lead <strong>Portfolio</strong> Manager, Non-Large Cap Strategies<br />

Scott is a portfolio manager for the Growth Team. He has primary responsibility for investment research in technology and<br />

software, and had previously been the team’s information systems specialist, designing and implementing its technology<br />

infrastructure. Scott is Chairman of the Investment Committee, and along with Steve Barry and Jeff Rabinowitz is also responsible<br />

for portfolio construction for the non-large cap portfolios. Scott worked at Liberty Investment Management prior to Goldman<br />

Sachs Asset Management’s acquisition of Liberty in January 1997. He graduated with a BA in Government from Harvard<br />

University in 1994.<br />

Jeffrey Rabinowitz, CFA<br />

Managing Director; Co-Lead <strong>Portfolio</strong> Manager, Non-Large Cap Strategies<br />

Jeff is a portfolio manager for the Growth Team. He has primary responsibility for investment research in the communications,<br />

technology, and semiconductor industries. Along with Steve Barry and Scott Kolar, Jeff is also responsible for portfolio construction<br />

for the non-large cap portfolios. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs in May 1999, he was a senior software engineer at Motorola,<br />

responsible for product development of digital wireless phones. Jeff graduated with honors from Florida Atlantic University with a<br />

BS degree in Electrical Engineering. He received his MBA in Finance with Distinction from the Wharton School of the University<br />

of Pennsylvania and graduated as a Palmer Scholar in 1999.<br />
