Problem solving guide<br />
With the aid of the following guide, minor problems can be easily corrected<br />
without contacting Miele.<br />
If you cannot resolve the problem following these <strong>instructions</strong> please contact Miele<br />
(see back cover for contact details).<br />
Do not attempt to open the appliance casing yourself!<br />
Installation, maintenance <strong>and</strong> repairs may only be carried out by a suitably<br />
qualified <strong>and</strong> competent person in strict accordance with current national <strong>and</strong><br />
local safety regulations.<br />
Repairs <strong>and</strong> other work by unqualified persons could be dangerous. The<br />
manufacturer cannot be held liable for unauthorised work.<br />
Problem<br />
The display is dark.<br />
The oven does not<br />
heat up.<br />
Possible cause <strong>and</strong> remedy<br />
– Check whether the time of day display is set so that it<br />
does not show in the display (see "Settings – Pi").<br />
– Check whether the mains fuse has tripped. If it has,<br />
contact a qualified electrician or Miele.<br />
– Check if the system lock symbol is showing in the<br />
display. If it is, call up the symbol <strong>and</strong> select Status "0",<br />
see "System lock".<br />
– Check whether the demo programme has been<br />
activated.<br />
Turn the function selector to "Settings ". If "MES_"<br />
appears, the demo programme has been activated.<br />
Deactivate it, see "Settings – P7".<br />
– Check whether the mains fuse has tripped. If it has,<br />
contact a qualified electrician or Miele.<br />
