Italian Language Inter-Cultural Alliance (ILICA)
Annual Celebration
November 10 6:00 – 11:00 pm
ILICA’s annual event to celebrate and promote the Italian
language as a tool for understanding and study of a
culture in constant evolution. ILICA operates in the U.S.
and Italy and raises funds for the support and training of
American teachers of Italian. This year’s celebration will
honor Cav. Anthony Julian Tamburri, Ph.D., Dean, John
D. Calandra Italian American Institute, Queens College/
CUNY; Cristiana Pegoraro, pianist/composer; and the
Italy-America Chamber of Commerce (IACC). Sponsored
by ILICA.

General Meeting and Cultural Presentation

Mara DeMatteo, Italian writer, translator and educator
will share highlights from her book Dreams, Lies and a
Touch of Smoke regarding her participation in a program
with an Italian high school in Portici, Italy. Refreshments
will be served. Sponsored by the Kensico Italian
