GREETING:
Whereas, the theme of this year’s Italian
Heritage and Culture Month celebration
recognizes Dr. Maria Montessori: An
Internationally Renowned Educator and
Physician; and
Whereas, she was the first woman in Italy to
receive a medical degree; and
Whereas, through the founding of the
Montessori education program, children are able
to reach their maximum learning potential; and
Whereas, this year’s theme also celebrates
the accomplishments of all Italian and Italian
American women.
Now, therefore, I, Helen M. Marshall, President
of the Borough of Queens in the City of New
York, do hereby proclaim the month of October,
