important and how <strong>the</strong>ir local Montessori school<br />

“In today’s world, in which autism and children with<br />

special needs are receiving more care and attention,<br />

how do we recognize <strong>the</strong> importance <strong>of</strong> Montessori’s<br />

early work in this field? How might Montessori react<br />

to <strong>the</strong> growing study <strong>of</strong> autism?<br />

Extended Activity 3 or Homework option 3:<br />

Student answer <strong>the</strong> following questions in essay<br />

<strong>for</strong>m: “Consider Montessori’s philosophy in relation<br />

to adolescents and teens. How is this concept<br />

different or unique? How does it compare to <strong>the</strong><br />

way adolescents and teens are educated today? Do<br />

you agree or disagree with Montessori’s idea <strong>of</strong><br />

educating adolescents? Why?”<br />
