Personal Growth Book Club<br />

Join us the second Tuesday of each month for a meaningful discussion of non-fiction<br />

books geared towards improving the quality of our lives. Book topics will include<br />

gratitude, happiness, mindfulness, relationships, positivity, managing stress and<br />

loneliness, finding meaning and purpose, and many more. Reading the book<br />

selections is recommended but not mandatory, and everyone is welcome to join in<br />

on our stimulating discussions. The book club facilitator is licensed, clinical social<br />

worker Sharon Rosman.<br />

education, safe and effective forms of exercise, grocery shopping/restaurant<br />

skills, meditation, the pros and cons of supplements, making the most out of<br />

doctor visits, increasing your daily activity, and much more. Licensed, clinical<br />

social worker Sharon Rosman holds certifications in wellness coaching,<br />

personal training, and nutrition education, with a specialty in geriatrics.<br />

Walking Class<br />

Join us the fourth Tuesday of every month as we walk indoors (at our own<br />

pace) to lively and upbeat music. Appropriate for those limited in their<br />

Mah Jongg Lessons<br />

Learn the basics of Mah jongg in a class taught by Estelle Greenberg who has<br />

been playing the game for over 45 years. You will need to bring your own Mah<br />

jongg cards to class which can be purchased at different gift shops. Please preregister<br />

German conversational group meets at the Oakton Community Center<br />

on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month. Stop by and see what we<br />

<strong>Program</strong>s to Help You Save on a Social Security Budget<br />

Social Security benefits don’t go very far to cover the cost of living.<br />

Beth Lindley, Social Worker with the Village of <strong>Skokie</strong> Human Services<br />

will review the array of entitlement programs that may help stretch<br />

your dollar. If you are not already enrolled in Circuit Breaker, LIHEAP,<br />

Lifeline, Medicare Savings <strong>Program</strong> or the Low Income Subsidy (Extra<br />

Help), you will learn about program requirements and where to go to<br />

access these programs. Please pre-register for this program.<br />
