through its faith some good: (Qur'rut: Al-An'lim: 158) means that<br />
neither the beliefoffered by a disbeliever nor the repentance initiated by a<br />
defiantly disobedient pers<strong>on</strong> will be accepted."<br />
Inexplaining the meaning ofthe aforementi<strong>on</strong>ed Qur'anic verse, Al-Qur:tuhi<br />
(may Allah have mercy <strong>on</strong> him) says:<br />
"Scholars have maintained that belief when the sun rises from its west<br />
will avail nothing because when the terror resultingfrom the appearance<br />
ofthis sign occurs, every desire for perpetrating sins will be extinguished<br />
<strong>and</strong> every energy will be enfeebled. Thus, all people, because of their<br />
certainty about the closeness of the Last Day, will be like those at the<br />
verge ofdeath. They will, therefore, lack any incentive for perpetrating<br />
sins. Hence, their repentance will not be accepted like the case of those<br />
offering repentance at deathbed. The Prophet (PBUH) said, 'Allah<br />
accepts a servant's repentance as l<strong>on</strong>g as he is not <strong>on</strong> his deathbed'<br />
(that is, before the soul ofthe dying pers<strong>on</strong> reaches the throat). This is<br />
the time when the dying pers<strong>on</strong> envisages his resting abode whether in<br />
the Paradise or in the Hellfire. The same applies <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> the <strong>on</strong>e who sees the<br />
sun's risingfrom the west."<br />
This great incident is regarded as a great means of turmoil, which refers <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />
a whole change of the universe <strong>and</strong> the coming of the Last Day. It also refers <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />
Allah's Omnipotence. The sun is regarded as <strong>on</strong>e ofthe creatures ofAllah, which is<br />
solely managed by Him.<br />
We ask. Almighty Allah <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> sustain us with true faith <strong>and</strong> beneficial certitude in<br />
Him, so that we may be well equipped with good <strong>and</strong> righteous deeds for the Day of<br />
Resurrecti<strong>on</strong>, before it is <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>o late. All praise is due <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> Allah, the Lord ofthe worlds.<br />
7. Assembling All People inthe L<strong>and</strong> ofAsh-Sham7:<br />
In his book entitled 'An-Nihdyah: ImAm Ibn Kathir (may Allah have mercy<br />
<strong>on</strong> him) said:<br />
"This sign is proved according <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> the Two S.ahihs (the two authentic<br />
books ofAI-Bukhdri <strong>and</strong> <strong>Muslim</strong>) regarding the hadith narrated by<br />
Aba Hurayrah saying, 'The Prophet's (PBUH) said, 'The people will<br />
be gathered in three ways: (The first group will be) those who will<br />
have a hope (for Paradise) <strong>and</strong> will have a fear (ofpunishment); (the<br />
sec<strong>on</strong>d group will be those who will gather) riding two <strong>on</strong> a camel<br />
or three <strong>on</strong> a camel or ten <strong>on</strong> a camel (successively) <strong>and</strong> the rest of<br />
the people (i.e., the third group) will be urged <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> be gathered by the<br />
Fire which will accompany them at the time oftheir afterno<strong>on</strong> nap
