Partnering with Purdue, Rose Hulman<br />
The <strong>Cummins</strong> Collage of Engineering for Women<br />
partners with Rose Hulman and Purdue Universities<br />
in <strong>Cummins</strong>’ home state of Indiana. Outstanding<br />
young women engineers from CCEW are invited to<br />
attend these universities on scholarships to pursue<br />
their master’s and doctoral studies.<br />
To date, 31 students have taken advantage of<br />
the program, supported through the <strong>Cummins</strong><br />
India Foundation. <strong>Cummins</strong> actively recruits<br />
Purdue and Rose Hulman students to add to<br />
its engineering staff.<br />
<strong>Cummins</strong> College of Engineering for Women<br />
Location: Pune and Nagpur, India<br />
Mission: To develop women professionals who are<br />
academically and technically sound with a strong<br />
work ethic.<br />
History: Founded in<br />
1991 with a grant from the<br />
<strong>Cummins</strong> India Foundation.<br />
The college is run by<br />
Maharshi Karve Stree-<br />
Shikshan Samstha (MKSSS),<br />
a 114-year-old Indian institution dedicated to the<br />
cause of women’s education.<br />
Special features: The school recently opened a<br />
second campus in Nagpur.<br />
<strong>Cummins</strong> involvement: In addition to financial<br />
support, <strong>Cummins</strong> contributes technical expertise,<br />
experts for lectures, and programs to aid placement.<br />
