Affiliate <strong>student</strong>s should consult with their <strong>University</strong> College for more specific details<br />

fee, contact the Dean’s Office <strong>of</strong> your faculty<br />

before September 30 <strong>of</strong> the current academic<br />

year. If you still owed tuition by the end <strong>of</strong><br />

November, your opt out fee would be deducted<br />

from your tuition. If not, an email would be sent<br />

to you telling you to pick up a cheque sometime<br />

around the end <strong>of</strong> November.<br />

At the end <strong>of</strong> February, Advancement<br />

Services will issue an <strong>of</strong>ficial income tax<br />

receipt to <strong>student</strong>s who paid the donation<br />

in full. Students can use this receipt to claim<br />

a credit on their income tax returns. For<br />

further information, contact the appropriate<br />

Dean’s Office or Advancement Services or visit<br />

your faculty website (see Important Contacts<br />

section in this guide).<br />

T2202A slip<br />

All T2202As for the years from 2000<br />

onwards are available at <strong>student</strong>.uwo.ca<br />

for <strong>student</strong>s to view and print. T2202As for<br />

2010 will be available by February 28, 2011.<br />

Students will require their <strong>student</strong> ID number<br />

and Acces Code (formerly PIN), or UWO email<br />

and password to access the information.<br />

T4A Slips<br />

All T4As are mailed to the most recent<br />

address on file with the Office <strong>of</strong> the Registrar<br />

in February for the previous calendar year. All<br />

recipients <strong>of</strong> OGS/OGSST, NSERC and SSHRC<br />

that is paid monthly (i.e. Graduate <strong>student</strong>s)<br />

can contact Human Resources 519-661-2194<br />

for their T4A form. The Office <strong>of</strong> the Registrar<br />

does NOT issue these. Graduate <strong>student</strong>s<br />

who receive NSERC, IPS payments or other<br />

scholarships through the School <strong>of</strong> Graduate<br />

and Postdoctoral Studies will receive their T4A<br />

forms by mail.<br />

Textbook and<br />

Technology Grant<br />

The Textbook and Technology Grant helps<br />

<strong>student</strong>s pay for textbooks and computer<br />

costs. The grant is $150 per academic year for<br />

full-time <strong>student</strong>s qualifying for OSAP who<br />

are attending a provincially funded college or<br />

university in Canada.<br />

Full-time <strong>student</strong>s receiving OSAP do not<br />

need to apply for the grant. They will receive<br />

a grant cheque by mail to the address on their<br />

OSAP application.<br />

Deadlines<br />

For September, the deadline for first year<br />

<strong>student</strong>s is August 3. The deadline for upper<br />

year <strong>student</strong>s is August 16. The second<br />

installment is due January 3. For Summer, the<br />

deadline is May 16, 2011.<br />

View your account balance and tuition<br />

deadline at http://<strong>student</strong>.uwo.ca/ In Finances,<br />

click on Detailed Statement <strong>of</strong> Account. Payment<br />

can be made through Internet banking through<br />

major Canadian banks, or by cheque or money<br />

order payable to the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Western</strong><br />

<strong>Ontario</strong>. If you are arranging payment from<br />

outside Canada visit www.registrar.uwo.ca/<br />

index.cfm/<strong>student</strong>-finances/fees-refunds/<br />

payment-information.<br />

Paying with OSAP<br />

If you wish to pay your tuition fees with your<br />

OSAP loan you must apply for OSAP by June<br />

30. If your OSAP entitlement is not sufficient<br />

to cover your first installment <strong>of</strong> tuition fees,<br />

you are responsible for paying your difference<br />

by the due date. If you pay in two installments<br />

(September and January) with your OSAP you<br />

will be charged the $54.00 deferment charge.<br />

Note: OSAP loans are issued in 2 installments,<br />

60% in September and the remainder in January.<br />

Paying Your Tuition and Fees<br />

Students should check their account balance<br />

online through <strong>student</strong>.uwo.ca. A PIN and<br />

<strong>student</strong> number is needed to access this site. A<br />

hard copy <strong>of</strong> your fee bill will not be mailed.<br />

Tuition fees for 2011/12 first-year <strong>student</strong>s are<br />

due August 3, 2011. They are due August 16 for<br />

all upper year <strong>student</strong>s. You must check your<br />

account balance online.<br />

I made a payment @ the bank or online & it<br />

isn’t showing…<br />

Wait two weeks from the time you made<br />

your payment. If it has been longer than two<br />

weeks, go back to your bank and trace your<br />

funds. Keep checking <strong>student</strong>.uwo.ca to see<br />

if your fees are posted.<br />

Fee Deferment<br />

Students using OSAP to pay their tuition<br />

fees and who have an assessment that covers<br />

the first installment fully, will be granted<br />

an automatic fee deferral until the loans are<br />

available in September. The second installment<br />

<strong>of</strong> tuition will be due in January. Students<br />

receiving OSAP funding may wish to pay<br />

in two installments. Information about fee<br />

deferment will be available on the fee bill.<br />

Students can avoid the deferment fee if full<br />

tuition is paid by September 30.<br />

Avoiding Additional Charges<br />

Avoid late charges by paying the full amount<br />

<strong>of</strong> tuition by the deadline date. Be sure to contact<br />

Student Financial Services if you have any<br />

questions about fee payment.<br />

How to Make a Tuition Fee Payment<br />

Payments for tuition fees can be made via<br />

internet banking through any Canadian bank.<br />

Your <strong>student</strong> number is your account number<br />

for internet payments. Be sure to pay in advance<br />

<strong>of</strong> the due date to ensure payment is received<br />

on time/by the deadline. Students can pay in<br />

person at Student Central located in the <strong>Western</strong><br />

Student Services Building with cheque or debit.<br />

Wire transfers for <strong>student</strong>s out <strong>of</strong> country can<br />

Scholarship Payment<br />

First-year scholarships are not confirmed<br />

until after first-year fees are due. Students<br />

in scholarship contention should pay the<br />

full amount <strong>of</strong> their tuition fees or their first<br />

installment to avoid late payment charges. When<br />

the scholarship is confirmed, it will be applied<br />

to your tuition account by September 30. If this<br />

results in a credit on your account, a cheque will<br />

be issued at the end <strong>of</strong> October.<br />
