Presently, there are five chaplains appointed
to the University of Western Ontario from
various Christian Traditions within the
association. We are also able to provide
immediate contacts for Muslim, and Jewish
students. For those students who are not a
part of any of these traditions, we work to
provide them with access to spiritual leaders and
resources within their own tradition.

Food Support Service, USC

The USC Food Support Service is a
completely anonymous food hamper distribution
system. Food hampers can be requested through
email and collected 24 hours a day.
To obtain a food hamper, students can email
usc.food.support@uwo.ca with a request. No
identification or other information is required.
Any special requests (such as baby food or dairy
free items) can be made at this time.
The student will receive an email from
the USC Food Support Service coordinators
within 48 hours with the location and
combination of a locker within the UCC (if
special requests are made, it may take up to a
week to prepare a special hamper). Students
may also obtain hampers in person at the
University Student’s Council office (UCC
Room 340) during business hours.

Indigenous Services provides for
“Indigenous Student Support Services”
which includes: 1. Counselling Services,
Admissions assistance, 2. Pre-University
Enrichment (summer youth camps, track and
field, co-ed basketball, tours, recruitment
information), 3. Academic Preparatory and
Transition Programs liaison services with
Lambton College Pre-Degree Program,
Mohawk Immersion Program, and Six
Nations Polytechnic, 4. Undergraduate
Student Enrichment (academic assistance and
referrals, Access Transition Program, Bridging
and Mature Student Support, Learning
Resource Centre, Visiting Elders/Traditional
Teachers), and 5. Professional Health Support
(Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry
Liaison Counsellor).

Psychological Services has several
counsellors with expertise in the provision
of services to LGBTQ2 students. We have
experience in assisting students with coming
out issues, family matters, isolation, dealing
with queer phobia on campus, and many
other concerns. We actively maintain links
with Western’s Pride Network and stay
informed regarding additional services
and events of relevance to the LGBTQ2
community on campus.

Donna Moore, the Mature Student Advisor,
Rebecca Smith, Academic Counsellor, and
Rosemary Lewis, Administrative Assistant can be
found in The Student Success Centre: Careers,
Leadership and Experience. Donna and Rebecca
can help you with all aspects of becoming a
student—admissions, programs, services, etc.
Enrolled at Western? Donna and Rebecca help
part-time students choose courses and program
directions. Rosemary has been helping
students at Western for many years, and is a
great resource!
Ombudsperson

The office of the Ombudsperson acts
a liaison between the University and
its Students. The Ombudsperson is a
confidential, free and impartial office
designed for dealing with academic concerns
such as unfair grading, appealing accusations
of academic dishonesty, as well as University
recommended withdrawals and readmissions.
