Computer Access<br />
<strong>Western</strong> Libraries<br />

<strong>Western</strong> Libraries features seven locations across campus that provide<br />
access to: physical collections, individual and group study space, printing<br />
and photocopying facilities, Sun Ray terminals for access to online library<br />
resources, and wireless access if you prefer to work on your own laptop.<br />
The <strong>Western</strong> Libraries website (www.lib.uwo.ca) provides an easy way<br />
to search and discover <strong>Western</strong> Libraries’ expansive online collections. In<br />
person or online you will also find friendly, helpful staff available who are<br />
experienced assisting <strong>student</strong>s with all kinds <strong>of</strong> information needs.<br />
Hours <strong>of</strong> Operation:<br />
Individual <strong>Western</strong> Libraries locations are posted on the library website<br />
Taylor Library (Engineering, Science, Health Sciences and Schulich<br />
School <strong>of</strong> Medicine & Dentistry) and Weldon Library (Arts &<br />
Humanities, Information and Media Studies and Social Science) are the<br />
largest libraries on campus and through the school year are typically open<br />
between 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 p.m Monday to Friday, and <strong>of</strong>fer weekend<br />
hours (usually between 10 a.m. – 11 p.m.). Through the exam period<br />
Taylor and Weldon are open until 2 a.m..<br />
Pr<strong>of</strong>essional libraries on campus include the C.B. “Bud” Johnston<br />
Library (Business), Education Library, John & Dosta Bitove Family<br />
Law Library and Music Library. Hours vary for each location but most<br />
are open between 9 a.m. – 10 p.m., Monday to Friday and <strong>of</strong>fer some<br />
weekend hours.<br />
<strong>Western</strong> Libraries is also home to the Archives and Research<br />
Collections Centre. The ARCC provides access to archival and special<br />
collections materials on a variety <strong>of</strong> topics <strong>of</strong> interest to researchers.<br />

4-digit Access Code (formerly PIN) and 9-digit <strong>student</strong> number into the<br />

General Student Computing Labs<br />
These labs are for general <strong>University</strong> instructional use. When the labs<br />
are not reserved for classes, they may be used by any <strong>Western</strong> <strong>student</strong> on<br />
a drop-in basis.<br />

WebCT Owl<br />

WebCT Owl is an academic website where you can check your<br />
grades, see an online copy <strong>of</strong> your courses syllabus, or lectureslides,<br />
and is used by some pr<strong>of</strong>essors as a tool for distributing course<br />
assignments. After logging in with your <strong>Western</strong> username and<br />
password, your home page will display all the courses you are<br />
registered for.<br />
<strong>Western</strong> Wireless<br />
Access to <strong>Western</strong> Wireless is only available to <strong>student</strong>s, faculty, staff<br />
and visitors <strong>of</strong> the <strong>University</strong> who have a valid WEI — <strong>Western</strong> Electronic<br />
Identity. Faculty, staff and <strong>student</strong>s can find more information about<br />
their electronic identity on the Personal Computer Account FAQ page at<br />
wireless.uwo.ca<br />

bands, and more! 94.9 CHRW won the Canadian Music Industry Campus<br />
Radio Station Award in 1995 and 2001 and the 2000 Fred Sgambati Award<br />
for <strong>University</strong> Sports Coverage - the only campus station to do so. Follow<br />

Tuesday through Friday, serving about 32,000 <strong>student</strong>s at <strong>Western</strong> each day.<br />
It reports news and promotes debate on issues relating to <strong>Western</strong> and the<br />
London community. Get involved by writing for news, arts & life or sports. Get<br />
creative by contributing to photography, video, graphics, or web design and<br />
development. The Gazette recruits year round and no experience is required. All<br />
