2.3.6 Is there a provision for counsellors / mentors/ advisors for each class or group of<br />

students for academic and personal guidance? If yes, specify.<br />

Ans:- Each and every student at the time of admission is allotted an Advisor for the<br />

academic and personal guidance. The Advisor keeps the academic record, as<br />

well as, the personal and other <strong>in</strong>formation of the student allotted to him. He<br />

regularly meets the students and sometimes his parents, to guide the<br />

students to make their future bright.<br />

2.3.7 How is the academic progress of each student monitored by the faculty?<br />

Ans:- After few sessions and after the first test, <strong>in</strong>dications are available regard<strong>in</strong>g<br />

the commitment of the student to his studies and this is monitored by his<br />

teachers. The academic progress of each student is also monitored by their<br />

Advisors at UG level and Student Advisory Committee (SAC) for PG and Ph.D.<br />

students. Discussions are held with the Head of the Dept. and other faculty<br />

members, as well as with the concerned student.<br />

2.3.8 Give details of the course by sessions of work assigned and implemented <strong>in</strong><br />

the tutorial session?<br />

Ans:- Mathematics, Statistics and Design discipl<strong>in</strong>es hold tutorials for problem<br />

solv<strong>in</strong>g. Design problems are normally given <strong>in</strong> the tutorial classes, which are<br />

supervised by the respective course <strong>in</strong>structors.<br />

2.3.9 How do the students and faculty keep pace with the recent developments <strong>in</strong><br />

the subjects?<br />

Ans :- Students and faculty regularly rema<strong>in</strong> <strong>in</strong> touch with new developments<br />

through the Departmental and Central libraries and much more than that,<br />

through world wide web and Internet. Unlike the past, today’s university<br />

students are not passive but quite fast <strong>in</strong> absorb<strong>in</strong>g the changes of the<br />

globalized world as the <strong>in</strong>ternet & 3G mobile <strong>in</strong>dicate.<br />

2.3.10 Are there departmental libraries for the use of faculty and students? If yes, give<br />

details.<br />

Ans:- Yes, there are departmental libraries for the use of faculty and students.<br />

Every school has its own library with computers and <strong>in</strong>ternet facilities. All<br />

the School Libraries are connected with the Central Library and the e-<br />

Library. In many cases, each department has its own library.<br />

2.3.11 On an average, how many students and faculty use the library per week?<br />

Ans:-<br />

On an average, 12000 students and faculty visit Central library and<br />

departmental Libraries per week.<br />
