Criterion VII: Innovative Practices<br />
7.1 Internal Quality Assurance System<br />
7.1.1 What mechanisms have been developed by the <strong>in</strong>stitution for quality assurance<br />
with<strong>in</strong> the exist<strong>in</strong>g academic and adm<strong>in</strong>istrative system?<br />
Ans:- Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) has been formed as per the guidel<strong>in</strong>es<br />
of <strong>NAAC</strong>. IQAC has been work<strong>in</strong>g effectively to ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong> the quality of<br />
teach<strong>in</strong>g, learn<strong>in</strong>g and other processes <strong>in</strong> the campus.<br />
7.1.2 What are the functions carried out by the above mechanisms <strong>in</strong> the quality<br />
enhancement of the <strong>in</strong>stitution?<br />
Ans:- The feedback provided by students regard<strong>in</strong>g teach<strong>in</strong>g, adm<strong>in</strong>istration, library<br />
etc. is analysed and appropriate measures are adopted. The self assessment<br />
done by the teachers is studied objectively and feedback provided. The<br />
Committee keeps a close watch on all issues related to quality <strong>in</strong> the<br />
academic zone and <strong>in</strong> the adm<strong>in</strong>istrative arena.<br />
7.1.3 What role is played by students <strong>in</strong> assur<strong>in</strong>g quality of <strong>edu</strong>cation imparted by the<br />
<strong>in</strong>stitution?<br />
Ans:- Students give feedback regard<strong>in</strong>g the course programmes, subjects and<br />
teachers <strong>in</strong> terms of quality on the prescribed format given by <strong>NAAC</strong> <strong>in</strong> a<br />
formal way; besides they make known their views to the teachers everyday<br />
regard<strong>in</strong>g teach<strong>in</strong>g and other facilities.<br />
House of Representatives which is a formal mechanism just like parliament<br />
helps to encourage participatory mode of communication and<br />
management with specific reference to the life of students <strong>in</strong> the<br />
University. It facilitates communication of students for the welfare as well<br />
as upliftment of the quality of University life.<br />
7.1.4 What <strong>in</strong>itiatives have been taken up by the <strong>in</strong>stitution to promote best practices <strong>in</strong><br />
the <strong>in</strong>stitution? How does the <strong>in</strong>stitution ensure that the best practices have been<br />
<strong>in</strong>ternalized?<br />
Ans:- Faculty members are requested to suggest at least one best practice that has<br />
been tested and found to be good <strong>in</strong> another <strong>in</strong>stitution when they visit it for<br />
a sem<strong>in</strong>ar, presentation or for official work.<br />
7.1.5 In which way has the <strong>in</strong>stitution added value to students’ quality enhancement?<br />
Ans:- The <strong>in</strong>stitution has added value by implement<strong>in</strong>g good suggestions and<br />
tak<strong>in</strong>g up the difficulties faced by the students.<br />
