4.3.11 How does the library motivate students/ teachers to read exist<strong>in</strong>g and new<br />
arrivals?<br />
Ans:- The Library displays new arrivals and notifies the departments. It encourage<br />
users through public & personal relations. It circulates book reviews.<br />
4.3.12 What are the special facilities offered by the library to the visually challenged and<br />
physically challenged person? How are they used?<br />
Ans:- Ramps are constructed along with rail<strong>in</strong>gs for the physically challenged<br />
people. There are volunteers who help the theses challenged students to get<br />
access to the books, journals and computers.<br />
4.3.<strong>13</strong> List the <strong>in</strong>frastructural development of the library over the last five years?<br />
Ans:- A new spacious library build<strong>in</strong>g is under construction.<br />
4.4 ICT as Learn<strong>in</strong>g Resources<br />
4.4.1 How is the computer facility extended to all faculty and students?<br />
Ans:- All the faculty members have been provided with <strong>in</strong>dividual desktops <strong>in</strong> their<br />
offices with <strong>in</strong>ternet and <strong>in</strong>tranet facilities. All the Schools and Departments<br />
have library with computers hav<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>ternet and <strong>in</strong>tranet facilities. Moreover,<br />
the University campus is Wi-fi enabled and any registered student can access<br />
<strong>in</strong>ternet and <strong>in</strong>tranet on his laptop by his username and password. The<br />
University also has a Digital Resource Centre which can be used by students<br />
and faculty members. It is available for use by students till 10.00 P.M.,<br />
specially for those who cannot afford to purchase desktop or laptop for use at<br />
home or <strong>in</strong> the hostel.<br />
4.4.2 How are the faculty facilitated to prepare computer aided teach<strong>in</strong>g/ learn<strong>in</strong>g<br />
materials? What are the facilities available <strong>in</strong> the university for such efforts?<br />
Ans:- All the faculty members have their <strong>in</strong>dividual desktop with <strong>in</strong>ternet and<br />
<strong>in</strong>tranet facility for prepar<strong>in</strong>g computer aided teach<strong>in</strong>g/learn<strong>in</strong>g material.<br />
Moreover the University has a Computer Centre which can be used by<br />
students and faculty members. The availability of LCD facilitates power po<strong>in</strong>t<br />
presentations and this happen <strong>in</strong> all the departments.<br />
4.4.3 Is there a central comput<strong>in</strong>g facility, If yes, how favourable are its tim<strong>in</strong>gs, access<br />
and cost to both students and faculty?<br />
Ans:- Yes, the University has a Central Comput<strong>in</strong>g Lab. available <strong>in</strong> the Dept of<br />
Computer Science. It is available throughout the day.<br />
