Ans :- Yes, five substitute appo<strong>in</strong>tments were made.<br />

2.4.4 What is the student teacher ratio?<br />

Ans :- The overall student teacher ratio is 20:1.<br />

2.4.5 What percentage of the teachers have Ph.D. as the highest qualification?<br />

Ans :- 38.2 % of the teachers have Ph.D. as the highest qualification and 23 % of<br />

teachers are pursu<strong>in</strong>g Ph.D.<br />

2.4.6 What percentage of the teachers have M. Phil as the highest qualification?<br />

Ans :- 2.5 % of the teachers have M.Phil. as the highest qualification.<br />

2.4.7 What percentage of the teachers have completed UGC, NET and SLET exams?<br />

Ans :- 5% have completed NET/SLET.<br />

2.4.8 What efforts are made by the management to promote teacher development?<br />

(eg: research grants, study leave, deputation to national/ <strong>in</strong>ternational<br />

conferences/ sem<strong>in</strong>ars, <strong>in</strong>-service tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g, organiz<strong>in</strong>g national/ <strong>in</strong>ternational<br />

conferences etc.)<br />

Ans :- The management provides necessary facilities for the academic upgradation<br />

for teacher development. They are given study leave with full<br />

salary to upgrade their qualifications from national as well as <strong>in</strong>ternational<br />

<strong>in</strong>stitutions. The management provides f<strong>in</strong>ancial assistance for present<strong>in</strong>g<br />

papers <strong>in</strong> symposia/conferences <strong>in</strong> India, as well as abroad. The<br />

management supports teachers for attend<strong>in</strong>g tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g, w<strong>in</strong>ter/summer<br />

schools, workshops <strong>in</strong> India as well as abroad by provid<strong>in</strong>g leave and<br />

f<strong>in</strong>ancial assistance.<br />

2.4.9 What are the teach<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>novations made dur<strong>in</strong>g the last five years? How are<br />

<strong>in</strong>novations rewarded?<br />

Ans :- The <strong>in</strong>novations are related to teach<strong>in</strong>g methodology, assessment and<br />

programmes. Innovations are rewarded with public appreciation at the<br />

Departmental/School level. The Vice Chancellor takes keen <strong>in</strong>terest <strong>in</strong><br />

appreciat<strong>in</strong>g their <strong>in</strong>novation.<br />

2.4.10 Does the <strong>in</strong>stitution have representation of women among the staff? If yes, what<br />

percentage?<br />
