Hustler<br />
Hustler is<br />
a small farming<br />
community<br />
that settled in<br />
the 1880s. The<br />
last weekend <strong>of</strong><br />
August, however, Hustler doesn’t settle down until their annual<br />
Hustlerfest is done. Hustlerfest celebrations overflow with<br />
food, fun, crafts, games, music, tractor pulls, and a parade.<br />
Lyndon Station<br />
Lyndon Station is a quaint little village with a historic<br />
connection to Ireland and an interstate connection to I90/94.<br />
The interstate provides Lyndon Station with easy access to<br />
nearby Rocky Arbor State Park as well as ample camping<br />
throughout Lyndon Station.<br />
Towards the eastern part <strong>of</strong> Juneau County, just past Lyndon Station, you’ll<br />
find the 15” gauge railway <strong>of</strong> the Riverside & Great Northern Railway steam<br />
locomotives that the entire family will enjoy. The small steam engines take you<br />
through picturesque woods before or after you tour the Locomotive Shop, the Boiler<br />
Shop, the Roundhouse, and the Coaling Tower. Even though the right-<strong>of</strong>-way is wide<br />
enough for a full size train, only the small locomotives are on these tracks so take<br />
your time and visit the Gift Shop or the historical Lunch Room.<br />
Mauston<br />
Mauston has plenty <strong>of</strong> choices for eating experiences. There are several<br />
locations <strong>of</strong> fast food, buffets, or family style dining whether enjoying your meal<br />
downtown or all around Castle Rock Lake. While downtown, take a walk along ‘the<br />
river <strong>of</strong> memories,’ otherwise<br />
known as the Lemonweir River.<br />
The Hatch Public Library has a<br />
spacious view <strong>of</strong> the river. There is<br />
a lot <strong>of</strong> local history to be found at<br />

the river.<br />

Necedah is a Ho-Chunk Indian<br />
word meaning “land <strong>of</strong> yellow water.”<br />
The Yellow River, as well as the<br />
<strong>Wisconsin</strong> River, Castle Rock Lake,<br />
and Petenwell Lake are located near<br />
Necedah.<br />
