the Swiss Yodel Club, the Kinderchor (children’s choir)<br />
and the Mannerchor (men’s choir). Visitors also enjoy the<br />
chance to sample authentic Swiss cuisine and hospitality<br />
throughout the village.<br />
One highlight in New Glarus is the Swiss Historical<br />
Village, which <strong>of</strong>fers a glimpse into the lives <strong>of</strong> the early<br />
settlers with fourteen buildings including an original<br />
schoolhouse, general store, and cheese factory replica.<br />
If shopping is your pleasure, New Glarus will not<br />
disappoint! Numerous unique shops are scattered<br />
throughout the village, including those <strong>of</strong>fering gifts,<br />
apparel, antiques, candy, bakery, seasonal items, and<br />
one-<strong>of</strong>-a-kind artisan gallery creations.<br />
New Glarus also serves as headquarters for the Sugar<br />
River State Trail, where bicyclists can rent bikes to begin<br />
their 23-mile journey at the restored depot, and perhaps<br />
return to camp at the nearby New Glarus<br />
Woods State Park.<br />
