6.5 Update on Partitioned Servers<br />

On a partitioned server, you need to install the same <strong>iQ</strong>.<strong>Suite</strong> version on all partitions.<br />
6.5.1 Update: Windows<br />
If you plan to replicate the databases on a partitioned server, perform an update<br />
on all servers involved.<br />
Basically, the <strong>iQ</strong>.<strong>Suite</strong> update process in a partitioned environment is the same as<br />
for a replicated environment. Refer to Update on Replicated Servers on page 54.<br />
Exeptions:<br />
• Before starting the update of the master server, be sure to stop all partitioned<br />
servers ("slaves") involved.<br />
• After having updated the master server, start the first partitioned server.<br />
• Stop the master server and perform the update.<br />
6.5.2 Update: IBM AIX, Linux and Oracle Solaris/SUN Solaris<br />
Basically, the <strong>iQ</strong>.<strong>Suite</strong> update process in a partitioned environment is the same as<br />
for a replicated environment. Refer to Update on Replicated Servers on page 54.<br />
Exceptions:<br />
• Before starting the update of the master server, be sure to stop all partitioned<br />
servers ("slaves") involved.<br />
• After having updated the master server, stop the master server and perform<br />
the update on all partitioned servers.<br />
• After having updated the partitioned servers, restart all partitioned servers<br />
as well as the master server.<br />
