in Cheektowaga. is filling his<br />
parking lot and houses with such film hits movie. Pictures will change each Tuesday,<br />

"Midway." "Murder by Death." "The with Dustin Hoffman headlining the Tuesday<br />
Omen," "Ode to Billy Joe." "Squirm" and<br />
"Silent Movie." The parking lot holds 2.500 (3) film. The new theatre-restaurant is<br />
located on Transit Road.<br />

Marching isn't the only forte of the University<br />
of California Marching Band which<br />
appeared recently in Tonawanda"s Memorial<br />
Auditorium. They performed barbershop<br />
harmony and comedy sketches including a<br />
Keystone Kops takeoff. The band's app>earance<br />
was sponsored by the community of<br />
Tonawanda and the Courier Express.<br />
The Rivoli Theatre at 1109 Broadway<br />
is showing "The Exorcist" and attracting<br />
good crowds. The Rivoli is one of the first<br />
showhouses in this city.<br />
According to a local newspaper, the Eastman<br />
Kodak Co. in Rochester is doing all<br />
right, with reported earnings 7.4 per cent<br />
higher in the second quarter of this year<br />
is planning an expansion of its<br />
nearby Elmgrove plant, reportedly amounting<br />
to several millions dollars.<br />

"An Amazing Romeo and Juliet" is the way<br />

A large crowd attended a sneak showing<br />
of "Swashbuckler." said to be the grandest<br />
pirate movie ever, at the Plaza North. "Logan's<br />
Run" also was shown . . . Alfred<br />
Hitchcock's "Family Plot" is being shown<br />
at the Palace Theatre in Lockport—and<br />
the ad declares you must see it twice . . . The<br />
Sunset Drive-ln in Middleport has Walt<br />
Disney's "Peter Pan" and "Escape to Witch<br />
Mountain," with cartoons added.<br />
Robert E. Whelan, the city's chief controller,<br />
has proposed that the city retain<br />
ownership of the Granada Theatre. 3176<br />
Main St., and assume the role of landlord<br />
by leasing the motion picture house to private<br />
interests. In early spring the city acquired<br />
the Granada and adjacent business<br />
and residential units in tax-foreclosure proceedings.<br />
Whelan proposed to the council<br />
that the theatre portion of the parcel be<br />
leased to Alan Ernestoft of East Aurora and<br />
Edward Bebko of Tonawanda at an annual<br />
rental fee not specified. The lease would be<br />
for five years, with an option to renew for<br />
five more years. He said the fully taxed<br />
theatre and the adjacent imits would yield<br />
