A film-dinner spot. Mister Anthony's,
opened July 27 with a George Kennedy
in Cheektowaga. is filling his
parking lot and houses with such film hits movie. Pictures will change each Tuesday,
as
"Midway." "Murder by Death." "The with Dustin Hoffman headlining the Tuesday
Omen," "Ode to Billy Joe." "Squirm" and
"Silent Movie." The parking lot holds 2.500 (3) film. The new theatre-restaurant is
located on Transit Road.

Motor Kings" is being shown at Loew's
Teck and Transit drive-ins at Millersport.
A second feature is being offered at each
Marching isn't the only forte of the University
of California Marching Band which
appeared recently in Tonawanda"s Memorial
Auditorium. They performed barbershop
harmony and comedy sketches including a
Keystone Kops takeoff. The band's app>earance
was sponsored by the community of
Tonawanda and the Courier Express.
The Rivoli Theatre at 1109 Broadway
is showing "The Exorcist" and attracting
good crowds. The Rivoli is one of the first
showhouses in this city.
According to a local newspaper, the Eastman
Kodak Co. in Rochester is doing all
right, with reported earnings 7.4 per cent
higher in the second quarter of this year
is planning an expansion of its
nearby Elmgrove plant, reportedly amounting
to several millions dollars.

at Holiday 3 and Eastern Hills, as is "Silent
Movie" at the Holiday 6 and Boulevard
Seneca Mall. Both films are racking up big
grosses for 20th Century-Fox . to
Billy Joe" has opened at Seneca Mall. Holiday
4, Kensington and Sheridan I and Buffalo
2 drive-ins. The single and original
sound track is available on Warner Records.
"An Amazing Romeo and Juliet" is the way
"Ode to Billy Joe" is introduced at the theatres.
A large crowd attended a sneak showing
of "Swashbuckler." said to be the grandest
pirate movie ever, at the Plaza North. "Logan's
Run" also was shown . . . Alfred
Hitchcock's "Family Plot" is being shown
at the Palace Theatre in Lockport—and
the ad declares you must see it twice . . . The
Sunset Drive-ln in Middleport has Walt
Disney's "Peter Pan" and "Escape to Witch
Mountain," with cartoons added.
Robert E. Whelan, the city's chief controller,
has proposed that the city retain
ownership of the Granada Theatre. 3176
Main St., and assume the role of landlord
by leasing the motion picture house to private
interests. In early spring the city acquired
the Granada and adjacent business
and residential units in tax-foreclosure proceedings.
Whelan proposed to the council
that the theatre portion of the parcel be
leased to Alan Ernestoft of East Aurora and
Edward Bebko of Tonawanda at an annual
rental fee not specified. The lease would be
for five years, with an option to renew for
five more years. He said the fully taxed
theatre and the adjacent imits would yield
