Clean City Committee
The St. Catharines Clean City Committee has existed for more than 10 years
and is a group of volunteers dedicated to the removal of litter in the City of
St. Catharines. The Clean City Committee also works with other volunteer
groups, community organizations and interested individuals toward the
fulfilment of their mandate.
The vision of the Clean City Committee is a litter-free City of St. Catharines.
The mission of the committee is to work towards the elimination of litter in
the City of St. Catharines through:
• Public awareness;
• Co-operation and communication;
• Promotion and education; and
• The facilitation of community involvement

Community Gardens
The community gardens project provides gardening space and
all necessary items for participants to grow and harvest their
own produce. Sharing knowledge and expertise supports the
project with the goal of increasing fresh produce for participants.
The gardens project is intended for residents of Niagara Regional
Housing, clients of Community Care and those without gardening
space. Currently there are 30 plots located at Torosian Park
on Ventura Dr. available. Applications are available in early April
2013 at Community Care. For more information or to volunteer
as a “Garden Guardian” please call 905-685-1349.
Harvest Days
The Plant a Row Grow a Row Committee encourages you to share
your extra fruits and vegetables with others in the city who have
no easy access to the abundance of our land. Throughout August
and September citizens are encouraged to donate any surplus
harvest to Community Care. Donations are gratefully accepted at
Community Care locations in both St. Catharines and Thorold as
well as participating firehalls.
