South Richmond High School graduates 41<br />

South Richmond High School seniors proceed up <strong>the</strong> aisle <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> Mount Loretto gymnasium for <strong>the</strong>ir<br />
graduation ceremony.<br />
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- South Richmond High School’s graduates were lauded and encouraged for<br />
overcom<strong>in</strong>g adversity dur<strong>in</strong>g a comb<strong>in</strong>ed graduation ceremony today with South Richmond Intermediate<br />
School <strong>in</strong> Pleasant Pla<strong>in</strong>s.<br />
A total of 41 high school graduates were jo<strong>in</strong>ed by 29 from <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>termediate school. They glowed <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir red<br />
and blue caps and gowns as <strong>the</strong>y received <strong>the</strong>ir diplomas and numerous awards <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> gymnasium of <strong>the</strong><br />
school, located on <strong>the</strong> grounds of <strong>the</strong> Mission of <strong>the</strong> Immaculate Virg<strong>in</strong>, Mount Loretto.<br />
Sunny skies and rock ‘n’roll music played by <strong>the</strong> school’s "Ensemble 25" added to <strong>the</strong> elation of <strong>the</strong> event.<br />
Pr<strong>in</strong>cipal James McKeon, who presided over his first graduation, praised <strong>the</strong> achievements of <strong>the</strong> students<br />
who had diverse backgrounds and challenges.<br />
