STATEN ISLAND, NY - WILLOWBROOK - With nearly 30 years of history, a room full of compact discs,<br />
v<strong>in</strong>yl records and cassette tapes featur<strong>in</strong>g musicians and bands from across <strong>the</strong> world, Staten Island's only<br />
radio station can reach some 2.5 million potential listeners <strong>in</strong> parts of New York City and New Jersey.<br />
WSIA - Staten Island's Answer, found on <strong>the</strong> FM dial at 88.9 - operates out of Room 106 <strong>in</strong> Build<strong>in</strong>g 1C on<br />
<strong>the</strong> College of Staten Island's (<strong>CSI</strong>) Willowbrook campus. Its dee-jays have been mak<strong>in</strong>g stereo speakers<br />
shake s<strong>in</strong>ce <strong>the</strong> early 1980s.<br />
The station knows its audience, programm<strong>in</strong>g ma<strong>in</strong>ly different types of rock; occasionally, it bounces to<br />
genres <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g hip-hop, country, blues, jazz and techno. It features a drive-time (4-7 p.m.) talk show with<br />
music, news and sports.<br />
