Concord High School graduates told to become 'positive role<br />
models'<br />

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Concord High School seniors were commended yesterday for overcom<strong>in</strong>g adversity<br />
and persever<strong>in</strong>g, dur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong>ir graduation ceremony at <strong>the</strong> College of Staten Island.<br />
Boys wore black gowns and girls wore white as <strong>the</strong>y made <strong>the</strong>ir way down <strong>the</strong> aisles of <strong>the</strong> Center fot <strong>the</strong><br />
Perform<strong>in</strong>g Arts stage on <strong>the</strong> Willowbrook campus. Aletha Heggie, <strong>the</strong> school’s music teacher, sang <strong>the</strong><br />
national an<strong>the</strong>m, <strong>the</strong>n parents and friends cheered <strong>the</strong> graduates.<br />
Assistant Pr<strong>in</strong>ciple David Ashe congratulated <strong>the</strong> 78 graduates for break<strong>in</strong>g a record and be<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> largest<br />
graduat<strong>in</strong>g class at Concord High School.<br />
