David Turner<br />
Chief Executive Officer<br />
Joined <strong>Brambles</strong> in 2001 as Chief Financial<br />
Officer, on the formation of the DLC, and<br />
became Chief Executive Officer in October<br />
2003. He has been a Director of <strong>Brambles</strong><br />
since 2001. Previously, he was Finance<br />
Director of GKN plc, which he joined in<br />
1993. Prior to GKN plc, he was Finance<br />
Director of the food group Booker plc<br />
and has worked for Mobil Oil and Touche<br />
Ross. He was a non-executive director<br />
of Whitbread plc until 2 March <strong>2006</strong>. He<br />
was appointed a non-executive director of<br />
Commonwealth Bank of Australia Limited<br />
on 1 August <strong>2006</strong>. He is a Fellow of The<br />
Institute of Chartered Accountants in<br />
England and Wales. Age 61.<br />
Michael Ihlein<br />
Chief Financial Officer<br />
Joined <strong>Brambles</strong> as Chief Financial Officer<br />
in March 2004, following a long career<br />
with Coca-Cola Amatil Limited (and related<br />
companies), where he was Chief Financial<br />
Officer (1997–2004), Managing Director<br />
of Coca-Cola Amatil, Poland (1995–97)<br />
and had previously held a number of<br />
senior business development and treasury<br />
roles within that company. He has been<br />
a Director of <strong>Brambles</strong> since March 2004<br />
and he is also a director of Financial<br />
Executives International of Australia,<br />
an Associate Member of the Australian<br />
Institute of Company Directors and a CPA<br />
Australia. He holds a Bachelor of Business<br />
Studies (Accounting) from the University<br />
of Technology, Sydney. Age 51.<br />
Tom Brown<br />
Senior Vice President<br />
– Human Resources<br />
Joined <strong>Brambles</strong> in November 2003.<br />
Prior to joining <strong>Brambles</strong>, he was the<br />
Group Human Resources Director for<br />
Allied Domecq plc, based in the UK.<br />
Previously, Mr Brown spent six years with<br />
BHP in Melbourne, Australia, first as head<br />
of Human Resources for BHP Petroleum<br />
and then as head of the Human Resources<br />
function for BHP as a whole. He was a<br />
member of the team responsible for the<br />
merger and integration of BHP Billiton.<br />
His earlier career was spent in a variety<br />
of human resources roles with Mobil<br />
Corporation, in Europe, Africa and the USA.<br />
He holds a Master of Arts degree (French)<br />
from Aberdeen University. Age 52.<br />
Paul Martinez<br />
Senior Vice President – Strategy and<br />
Information Technology<br />
Joined <strong>Brambles</strong> in 1999 as Chief<br />
Information Officer from Andersen<br />
Consulting (now Accenture) where he was<br />
a partner for five years, based in Australia.<br />
With the creation of the <strong>Brambles</strong> DLC in<br />
August 2001, Mr Martinez was appointed<br />
to his current position, with responsibility<br />
for corporate strategy and group information<br />
technology. Previously, he worked with<br />
Ernst and Whinney in Asia. He holds<br />
a Bachelor of Arts, Economics and<br />
Mathematics from Claremont McKenna<br />
College, California. Age 46.<br />
David Mezzanotte<br />
Chief Operating Officer, CHEP<br />
Joined <strong>Brambles</strong> in 2001 as Senior Vice<br />
President, Sales with CHEP USA, and<br />
was appointed to his current role in<br />
September 2005. Prior to this, he was<br />
President, CHEP Americas; President,<br />
CHEP USA; and President of CHEP’s<br />
Container Business. Before joining CHEP,<br />
Mr Mezzanotte held senior positions with<br />
Honeywell, Allied Signal and DuPont.<br />
He holds a Bachelor, Masters and PhD<br />
in Metallurgical Engineering and Material<br />
Science from the University of Notre Dame.<br />
Age 51.<br />
Al Trujillo<br />
President and Chief Executive Officer,<br />
Recall<br />
Joined <strong>Brambles</strong> in 1996 and was appointed<br />
to his current role in 2002. Previous roles<br />
with the group have included: President,<br />
Recall Americas; Group General Manager,<br />
Recall Australasia; and President and<br />
General Manager of <strong>Brambles</strong> Atlantic<br />
Waste Disposal in the USA. He has also<br />
worked as a Vice President of CyanoKEM,<br />
a US subsidiary of RWE Germany, and as<br />
a project engineer for Lockheed Missiles<br />
and Space Co. He is a Director of US-based<br />
furniture retailer Havertys, an NYSE listed<br />
public company. Mr Trujillo holds a<br />
Bachelor of Science in Aerospace<br />
Engineering from the Georgia Institute<br />
of Technology, where he serves on<br />
the engineering school advisory board,<br />
and a Master of Science in Mechanical<br />
Engineering and a Masters in Business<br />
Administration from Stanford University.<br />
Age 46.<br />
Craig van der Laan de Vries<br />
Senior Vice President – Legal and<br />
Mergers & Acquisitions<br />
Joined <strong>Brambles</strong> in 2001. Prior to joining<br />
<strong>Brambles</strong>, was a General Counsel to, and<br />
Company Secretary of, the Westfield<br />
Group. Previously Corporate Solicitor<br />
for Australian National Industries and a<br />
solicitor with Mallesons Stephen Jaques.<br />
He holds degrees in Law (LLB (Hons)) and<br />
Arts (BA) from the University of Sydney<br />
and is a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of<br />
New South Wales. Age 41.<br />
Mark Luby and Jean-Louis Laurent<br />
Two members of the Executive Committee<br />
– Mark Luby (Senior Vice President<br />
– Business Development) and Jean-Louis<br />
Laurent (President, <strong>Brambles</strong> Industrial<br />
Services and Cleanaway UK and<br />
Asia-Pacific) – left <strong>Brambles</strong> in <strong>2006</strong>.<br />
Mark Luby left in June after 29 years’<br />
service and Jean-Louis Laurent left in<br />
August after 16 years' service.
