To exemplify the application of the guidelines presented in Table 1, a building to be built, which is in<br />

operation in a region in which the ratio of dem<strong>and</strong> to availability of water is worrying (10 to 20%). In<br />

Table 1, the target for reduction is from 20 to 40%. For this, the target can be reached, only with<br />

environmental education, detection <strong>and</strong> correction of leakages <strong>and</strong> a water submetering system of<br />

water consumption. With the installation of pressure reducers, a reduction of 10 to 30% can be<br />

reached in the points of consumption, in which this component can be installed <strong>and</strong> not in the system.<br />

In this case, in order to determine the impact of reduction in the total consumption of water, it is<br />

necessary to estimate a utilization st<strong>and</strong>ard in the referred points of consumption.<br />
