<strong>AQAR</strong> <strong>2006</strong>-<strong>2007</strong>, MADRAS CHRISTIAN COLLEGE, CHENNAI<br />
CAMPUS MINISTRIES<br />
The academic year began with the Staff Retreat on 11 June <strong>2006</strong>. Rev. Dr Jesudoss,<br />
former Principal of Gurukul Theological Seminary was the leader of the retreat this<br />
year. The Staff-Student Retreat was held on 27 August <strong>2006</strong>. It was well attended by<br />
staff and students. This year the Staff Study Circle organized meetings for the Self<br />
Financed Faculty at 11.30 a.m. on every first Thursday of the month. Several speakers<br />
were invited for the Staff Study Circle. A committee was constituted by the Principal<br />
to revive the activities of IACS. The following members were nominated by the<br />
Principal: Rev. Dr V.M. Spurgeon (Convener), Dr Moses Michael Faraday, Dr K.<br />
Joshua, Dr Moses Inbaraj and Dr Thomas Rosy. The Committee met thrice and<br />
decided to have the following activities: (i) conduct a PG Diploma in <strong>Christian</strong><br />
Studies for the PG students from the academic year <strong>2007</strong>-08. Dr Thomas Rosy will<br />
coordinate this; (ii) conduct a <strong>Christian</strong> Leadership Training for Church Leaders. Dr<br />
Moses Inbaraj will be the Coordinator; and (iii) organize a Seminar on the<br />
contributions of Zeigenbalg with the Department of Tamil. Dr Moses Michael<br />
Faraday will coordinate this Seminar. Dr M. Gladstone, former Principal of our<br />
<strong>College</strong>, instituted a scholarship in memory of his son Vijay Manuel for four active<br />
student members of the Chapel. This scholarship was given to the following students:<br />
Visy Sara, Sandhya Alexander, Thresa Catherine Miny and Jebin. Different carol<br />
services were held and the choir participated in the Alumni Concert under the<br />
leadership of Mr Vimal Kurien. Sunday Evening Service in the Anderson Hall were<br />
held regularly.<br />
OXFAM SCHOOL<br />
With the support of Caruna Bal Vikas, an NGO, the school has improved<br />
considerably not only in terms of pupil strength but also the quality of education<br />
offered. The school, as always, celebrated the Independence Day, Children’s Day and<br />
Christmas function.<br />
MCC – FAMILY LIFE INSTITUTE (FLI)<br />
FLI School was started as a part of the community outreach program in the<br />
neighborhood village of MCC. The school caters to the marginalized and the<br />
oppressed community people in the village. The school provides quality english<br />
