Director of Operations
Having been with Siegfried for over
nine years I have held a number of
roles. In my current position as Director
of Operations for the Pennsville site
I am responsible for all activities from
sourcing of the raw material through
manufacturing and finally to customer
fulfillment. It is exciting to be able to
see the entire operation and get a
sense of achievement when a delivery
is made to the customer. Responsible
for all aspects of the supply chain also
lets me interact with people from all
aspects of the industry. Whether I am
working with our customer, an internal
project team, or a raw material supplier,
I really enjoy collaborating with
others on a new project.
Siegfried has also given me the chance
to experience Europe. For two years
I worked at our headquarters in Zofingen,
Switzerland. The experience I had
there was as rewarding personally as it
was professionally. I had the pleasure
of sharing this experience with my
wife, Barbara, and our three children,
Sarah, Ashley, and Stephen. Living in a
different country really taught me to
evaluate issues with a fresh perspective.
As for my family, there was no
better way to teach my children about
the diversity of the world than to let
them experience it for themselves.
I know this experience will stay with
them and influence them throughout
their lives.
When I am not shuttling the children
between soccer, swimming lessons,
and ballet, I try to find the time to enjoy
my favorite activity: playing the
drums. Drumming has been a part of
my life since I was eight years old. I began
studying percussion in third grade
and continue my pursuit through college.
I have had the opportunity to
play in concert bands, marching bands,
symphonic orchestras, and rock bands.
It is an exhilarating feeling to relax into
a solid rhythm. This is a passion that I
know will remain with me throughout
my life.
By nature, I am a “fixer” and an
“organizer.” I enjoy puzzles and logic
problems and am drawn to finding
solutions and making complex issues
manageable. Perhaps this is what
drove me to study Chemical Engineering
in the first place and ultimately led
me into manufacturing.
My family plays a central role in my
free time outside of work. I enjoy
spending time with my children as they
try out new activities in sports, music,
and the arts. Since they are all still
young they have yet to pick a favorite
activity. But, this makes it even more
fun to try new things with each of
them! As a family, we also enjoy traveling,
something we really took advantage
of while living in Switzerland.
