Multi-Function Electrodes<br />

ZOLL PD 2200 Multi-function electrodes allow the operator to “hands-off”<br />

defrbrrllate, cardiovert, pace, and ECG monitor with a single pair of electrodes.<br />

The PD <strong>1400</strong> has been designed to operate with standard paddles and ZOLL NTP<br />

2000 pacing (standard) electrodes or PD 2200 multi-function electrodes without<br />

standard paddles. To switch between standard paddle-electrode/multi-function<br />

electrode options, the operator must remove either the standard paddles-pacing<br />

cable or the multi-function cable and install the other. (See photos on page 12.)<br />

ZOLL PD 2200 Multi-Function Pacing/Defibrillation Electrodes are anterior/<br />

posterior, pre-gelled, disposable electrodes. They are applied to the patient in the<br />

same manner and location as standard pacing electrodes. The multi-function<br />

electrodes can only be used with a multi-function cable. (ZOLL NTP 2000 pacing<br />

electrodes can only be used with a standard pacing cable.)<br />

The ZOLL PD <strong>1400</strong>, cables, and electrodes are designed and tested as a unit to<br />

provide maximum patient safety and comfort. Use of electrodes and/or cables<br />

other than those supplied by ZOLL could compromise patient safety and<br />

voids ZOLL’s warranty.<br />

If continuous pacing with multi-function electrodes exceeds 8 hours, you<br />

must replace the electrodes.<br />

The ZOLL PD 4410 Multi-Function Cable connects<br />

to the standard paddles receptacle on the right<br />

front of the unit in the same manner as the<br />

paddles cable. To remove either cable, press the<br />

two locking buttons - one on top of the connector<br />

and one on the bottom -together and pull the<br />

connector out from the PD <strong>1400</strong>. To install either<br />

cable, simply plug it into the connector.<br />

When using the multi-function cable, the operator must check the electrode<br />

packaging labels. Only “Pacing/Defibrillation Electrodes” will operate with the<br />

multi-function cable. The labels on the electrodes must have the words “PACE”<br />

printed in green and “DEFIB” printed in red.
