PROVISION OF VEHICLES TO FORMER CRS AUSTRALIA STAFF<br />

D12.1 An employee performing the role <strong>of</strong> CRS Australia Regional or Divisional Manager will be<br />

provided with a vehicle while they perform this role. The provision <strong>of</strong> a vehicle under this clause<br />

D12, and the use <strong>of</strong> that vehicle, will be in accordance with departmental policy on vehicles.<br />

D13<br />

REMOTE LOCALITIES ASSISTANCE<br />

Eligibility<br />

D13.1 The Secretary will approve remote locality assistance to employees while they are working at a<br />

location listed in Table A (Active Locations) <strong>of</strong> Schedule 5 (Remote localities) <strong>of</strong> this<br />

<strong>Agreement</strong>.<br />

D13.2 Where, immediately prior to the commencement <strong>of</strong> this <strong>Agreement</strong>, an employee working at a<br />

location listed in Table B (Grandfathered Locations) <strong>of</strong> Schedule 5 (Remote localities) <strong>of</strong> this<br />

<strong>Agreement</strong> was in receipt <strong>of</strong> remote locality assistance (however described) under their<br />

previous industrial instrument, the Secretary will approve remote locality assistance to the<br />

employee while they are working at that location.<br />

D13.3 An employee who is eligible for remote localities assistance under subclause D13.1 or D13.2<br />

will continue to be eligible for that assistance unless or until the earlier <strong>of</strong> the following:<br />

(a) the employee moves on an ongoing basis to a locality not listed in Schedule 5<br />

(Remote localities);<br />

(b)<br />

(c)<br />

the employee returns to a locality not listed in Schedule 5 (Remote localities),<br />

following a temporary assignment in a remote locality; or<br />

the employee ceases employment with the department.<br />

D13.4 Where an employee who was eligible for assistance in a Grandfathered Location ceases to be<br />

eligible for assistance (under subclause D13.3 <strong>of</strong> this <strong>Agreement</strong>) they cannot become eligible<br />

for assistance again under subclause D13.2. However, where an employee is temporarily<br />

assigned duties in the department away from a Grandfathered Location, they will not cease to<br />

be eligible for assistance on their return to the Grandfathered Location.<br />

D13.5 A person who was employed in a remote locality listed in Schedule 5 (Remote localities):<br />

(a)<br />

(b)<br />

(c)<br />

prior to 23 January 2006 in Centrelink;<br />

prior to 5 December 2005 in CRS Australia; or<br />

prior to the commencement <strong>of</strong> this <strong>Agreement</strong> in Medicare Australia, or in CRS<br />

Australia in Darwin,<br />

may move from an Active Location to a Grandfathered Location and be eligible for assistance<br />

under this clause D13, despite subclauses D13.2 and D13.3, so long as there is (and has been)<br />

no break in continuity by a circumstance listed in subclause D13.5 (a) to (c).<br />

D13.6 Where the Secretary approves payment to an employee <strong>of</strong> an allowance or condition in<br />

recognition <strong>of</strong> an employee’s service in a remote locality under clause A6 <strong>of</strong> this <strong>Agreement</strong><br />

which is more beneficial than the allowances payable under this clause D13 and Schedule 5<br />

(Remote localities) <strong>of</strong> this <strong>Agreement</strong>, the employee will not be entitled to receive allowances<br />

under this clause D13.<br />
