F18.3 Employees who prior to the commencement <strong>of</strong> this <strong>Agreement</strong> were covered by the Medicare<br />
Australia Collective <strong>Agreement</strong> 2008-2011 and were Medicare employees performing shift work<br />
engaged after 13 October 1999 will continue to receive shift duty payments in accordance with<br />
the following arrangements:<br />

15% for rostered ordinary duty performed on a shift<br />
where any part <strong>of</strong> the shift falls between the<br />
Monday to Friday<br />
hours <strong>of</strong> 7:30 pm and 7:30am.<br />
30% for rostered ordinary duty performed on a shift<br />
where an employee is rostered on shifts that fall<br />
wholly within the hours <strong>of</strong> 7:30pm and 7:30am.<br />
Saturday 50% for rostered ordinary duty performed on a shift<br />
where any part <strong>of</strong> that shift falls between<br />
midnight Friday and midnight Saturday.<br />
Sunday 100% for rostered ordinary duty performed on a shift<br />
where any part <strong>of</strong> that shift falls between<br />
midnight Saturday and midnight Sunday.<br />
APS holiday 150% for rostered ordinary duty performed on a shift,<br />
any part <strong>of</strong> which falls on the APS holiday.<br />
Public holidays 150% for rostered ordinary duty performed on a shift,<br />
any part <strong>of</strong> which falls on the public holiday.<br />
F18.4 Employees who prior to the commencement <strong>of</strong> this <strong>Agreement</strong> were covered by the Medicare<br />
Australia Collective <strong>Agreement</strong> 2008-2011 and were Medicare employees performing shift work<br />
on 13 October 1999 will continue to receive shift duty payments in accordance with the<br />

Rostered ordinary duty performed on a shift, any part <strong>of</strong> which falls between the<br />
hours <strong>of</strong> 6.00pm and 6.30am, Monday to Friday, attracts an additional 15% <strong>of</strong> salary<br />
for that shift.<br />
Rostered ordinary duty performed on a shift, falling wholly within the hours <strong>of</strong><br />
6.00pm and 8.00am, Monday to Friday, attracts an additional 30% <strong>of</strong> salary for that<br />
shift.<br />
Rostered ordinary duty performed on a shift, any part <strong>of</strong> which falls between<br />
midnight on Friday and midnight on Saturday, is paid an additional 50% <strong>of</strong> salary for<br />
that shift.<br />
Rostered ordinary duty performed on a shift, any part <strong>of</strong> which falls between<br />
midnight on Saturday and midnight on Sunday, attracts an additional 100% <strong>of</strong> salary<br />
for that shift.<br />
Rostered ordinary duty performed on any part <strong>of</strong> a public holiday, including the APS<br />
holiday, attracts an additional 150% <strong>of</strong> salary for that whole shift.<br />
F18.5 An employee described at subclause F18.3 and subclause F18.4 will be eligible for payment <strong>of</strong><br />
shift penalties, including as part <strong>of</strong> an annualised shift allowance, for periods <strong>of</strong> annual leave,<br />
and for periods <strong>of</strong> personal/carer’s leave <strong>of</strong> up to two weeks per annum.<br />
F18.6 The department will consult with an employee or employees and their representatives,<br />
regarding any proposal to pay shift penalties on an annualised basis.<br />
F18.7 A residual annual leave loading is payable to employees in respect <strong>of</strong> the period <strong>of</strong> additional<br />
annual leave accrued in subclause F17.9 (additional annual leave). The amount <strong>of</strong> the residual<br />
annual leave loading will be the greater <strong>of</strong> the following:<br />
