This Microsoft ® Windows ® -based software offers the following functionality:<br />

Display, configure, and adjust the parameters<br />

Upload and download configurations<br />

Operate the drive controller<br />

View the fault history<br />

Create or modify a configuration in stand-alone mode and transfer it to an ATV<strong>31</strong> drive controller<br />

New options have been added for the ATV<strong>31</strong> drive, such as an oscilloscope function, parameter name<br />

customization, configuration locking using a password, and creation of a user menu.<br />

Communication options<br />

The ATV<strong>31</strong> drive connects directly to Modbus and CANopen networks via an RJ45 connector, which<br />

supports both protocols. The communication function provides access to the drive controller’s<br />

configuration, adjustment, control, and monitoring functions. Various communication options are<br />

available such as cables, junction boxes, and terminators.<br />

Ethernet/Modbus bridge<br />

The ATV<strong>31</strong> drive can be connected to an Ethernet network via an Ethernet/Modbus bridge for control<br />

and monitoring. Ethernet communication is primarily intended for the following applications:<br />

Coordination with PLCs<br />

Local or centralized supervision<br />

Communication with production management software<br />

Communication with remote I/O<br />

Communication with industrial control products<br />

Communication gateways<br />

The ATV<strong>31</strong> drive can connect to other communication networks via the following gateways for control<br />

and monitoring:<br />

Profibus DP/Modbus<br />
