Show Me the Way
READ: Matthew 28:16-20
KEY VERSES: Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them
in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching
them to obey everything I have commanded you. -Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV)
One of the great blessings and challenges I have is serving as a group leader
in Bible Study Fellowship, an interdenominational Bible study that holds
classes around the world. I get to know the members in my group on a
personal level and pray with and for them.
Jesus also developed a close, personal relationship with the group He led -
His 12 disciples. During His ministry He taught them many things and more
importantly was the ultimate example of holiness, love, patience and truth.
He wanted to equip them for the work they had to do - making other disciples
for Him after His return to heaven.
We, too, are called to make disciples. We do that by building a Christ-like
relationship with those around us, investing time in them, encouraging
and praying with them and showing them the way to Jesus by living by His
commands. Just like Jesus did with His disciples. –Barbranda Walls
LOOKING WITHIN: How does my life model the ways of Jesus? Who can I
reach out to and help become a true disciple of Christ?
Dear Lord, please help me show someone the way to you and encourage
another in his or her walk with you. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
