Eternity Belongs to God
READ: Acts 15:6-18
KEY VERSE: Known to God from eternity are all His works from the beginning
of the world. –Acts 15:18 (NKJV)
God works across eternity more than we can even imagine. Paul points that
out in his writings about the early church. Members were divided over the
question of whether Gentiles could become Christians. The apostle reminds
us that almighty God’s eternal view is a major distinctive characteristic of His
nature.
Time is always a constraint in our limited nature and perspective. Indeed,
sometimes we can hardly see “beyond our nose” what is really going on.
However, it’s God who has the big picture of eternity in which He alone
operates. Where we leave off, He picks up. And only the true and living God
of all has this unique distinction. It’s reassuring to know that God truly knows
and sees all! –Rev. Samuel Nixon Jr.
LOOKING WITHIN: What does serving an eternal God mean in my journey
through life? In what ways does how I live impact where I will spend eternity?
God, it’s a privilege to be in service and relationship with you who make
the greatest difference in our lives for eternity! Thank you for loving me
and all of your creation in a way that operates across all of our clocks and
knows no limit. Amen.
