Wingert-Jones <strong>Music</strong><br />

Josh Myers is currently in his fourth year as the Director of Bands at Fayette Public Schools. He<br />

teaches Fifth Grade Band, Sixth Grade Band, the Clark Middle School Seventh and Eighth Grade<br />

Band, as well as the Fayette High School Concert and Marching Bands. He is in his eighth year of<br />

teaching having served for one year as the Assistant Band Director at the Montgomery County R-2<br />

Schools and three years as the <strong>Music</strong> Director at the Bunceton R-IV Schools. At Bunceton, Mr. Myers<br />

led the band to its first I rating at the State Festival in recent memory. The Fayette Band, under<br />

the direction of Mr. Myers, has consistently earned I ratings at the State Festival. The Fayette<br />

Falcon Pride Marching Band has also received numerous awards under his direction.<br />

Mr. Myers graduated with a Bachelor of <strong>Music</strong> Education degree from Central Methodist University<br />

in 2002 and is currently working on his Master of <strong>Music</strong> degree with an emphasis in instrumental<br />

conducting at Kansas State University. Josh’s professional affiliations include NAfME, MMEA, MBA,<br />

Phi Beta Mu, MSTA, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. Josh resides in Fayette with his wife Hilary, and<br />

his children; Kathryn (6), and Elliott (2).<br />
