Jason Elam currently resides in Kearney, Missouri, where he has taught for the past nine and a
half years. His teaching duties include Eighth and Ninth Grade Choir, Concert Choir, Bel Canto and
the Chamber Choir. Originally from Winfield, Kansas, Mr. Elam received his Bachelor of Science
degree in Music Education from Northwest Missouri State University in 1997, and Master’s Degree
in 2001. As an educator, Mr. Elam has taught for the past fourteen years in the Raymore-Peculiar,
Harrisonville, Chillicothe, and Kearney School Districts. He enjoys co-directing musicals at Kearney.
He is also the music director for the Starlight Stars Program at Starlight Theatre. Mr. Elam is a
member of MMEA, NAfME, MCDA, NEA, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Delta Chi, and Kappa Kappa Psi.
