Jason Elam currently resides in Kearney, <strong>Missouri</strong>, where he has taught for the past nine and a<br />
half years. His teaching duties include Eighth and Ninth Grade Choir, Concert Choir, Bel Canto and<br />
the Chamber Choir. Originally from Winfield, Kansas, Mr. Elam received his Bachelor of Science<br />
degree in <strong>Music</strong> Education from Northwest <strong>Missouri</strong> State University in 1997, and Master’s Degree<br />
in 2001. As an educator, Mr. Elam has taught for the past fourteen years in the Raymore-Peculiar,<br />
Harrisonville, Chillicothe, and Kearney School Districts. He enjoys co-directing musicals at Kearney.<br />
He is also the music director for the Starlight Stars <strong>Program</strong> at Starlight Theatre. Mr. Elam is a<br />
member of MMEA, NAfME, MCDA, NEA, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Delta Chi, and Kappa Kappa Psi.<br />
It is his hope that he can help to inspire his students to achieve their goals and dreams just as his<br />
teachers inspired him.<br />
Shortly after completing his bachelor’s degree, Mr. Elam married his college sweetheart, Stacy.<br />
Both Jason and Stacy returned to Northwest in the fall of 2000 as graduate assistants to pursue<br />
their Masters in <strong>Music</strong> Education. Jason and Stacy have two children, Brendan – 9 ½ yrs, and<br />
Abby – 6 years.<br />
