Greg Gilpin. Originally from the “Show-Me” state of <strong>Missouri</strong>, Greg resides in<br />

Indianapolis, IN. He is a graduate of Northwest <strong>Missouri</strong> State University with a<br />

Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal <strong>Music</strong> Education, K-12.<br />

Greg is a well-known, ASCAP award-winning choral composer and arranger with<br />

hundreds of publications to his credit. He is also in demand as a conductor for choral<br />

festivals, all-district and all-state choirs and is a member of MENC and ACDA. As<br />

Director of Educational Choral Publications for Shawnee Press, Inc., Greg oversees<br />

creation of the educational music products for this distinguished publisher.<br />

At home in Indianapolis, Greg is busy as a studio musician and producer in the<br />

recording industry. These projects include commercial jingles, CD projects, Broadway<br />

and Disney. He has worked musically with Ray Boltz, Bill and Gloria Gaither, Sandi<br />

Patty, David Clydesdale as well as principal pops conductor, Jack Everly and the<br />

Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.<br />

“A Whole Lotta Hullabaloo!” (p.32)<br />

This session presents music, games, movement and activities that teach musical concepts and create a funfilled,<br />

fast-paced and character building atmosphere of learning.<br />

“Choral Expressions for the 2-Part & 3-Part Choir” (p.33)<br />

Join Greg Gilpin as he presents concert and festival chorals designed to enrich teaching and learning,<br />

enhance programming, and present outstanding concerts. This session will highlight new music that’s<br />

certain make your rehearsals and perfromances the best they can be.<br />

Marilyn Gunn. NBTC Marilyn Gunn accidentally became a music teacher when<br />

she was subbing and found that the music classes were the most fun places to be.<br />

Her BA in Elementary Education is from Graceland University in Lamoni, IA and<br />

her MA in music is from UMKC. She has taught music at Blackburn Elementary in<br />

Independence for 21 years and is an adjunct professor at Avila University.<br />

“Owning all the Curriculum on Your Terms” (p.38)<br />

Taking a proactive posture towards integrating with the curriculum of other subjects so that your music<br />

curriculum is uncompromised, the music is authentic in its application, and you are supported of your<br />

co-teachers and their curriculums. Come prepared to sing and dance and play.<br />

Dr. Aurelia Hartenberger is currently adjunct Associate Professor of <strong>Music</strong> at<br />

the University of <strong>Missouri</strong>-St. Louis, World <strong>Music</strong> Specialist at Maryville University.<br />

Formerly she served as <strong>Music</strong> Coordinator for the Lindbergh School District from<br />

2007-2010, and Curriculum Director of the Mehlville School District from 1990-<br />

2006. She is a member of the <strong>Missouri</strong> Department of Elementary and Secondary<br />

Education Fine Arts Task Force, and is the creator of the web-based “Curriculum<br />

SUCCESS Tool” for Aureus Concepts.<br />

Dr. Hartenberger, a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis , is Past President<br />

of MENC Southwest Division, Past President of MMEA, and Past President of the<br />

St. Louis Suburban <strong>Music</strong> <strong>Educators</strong>. She has served as a member of the MENC<br />

Benchmark Committee for National Standard 2, and the MENC National “ Model<br />

<strong>Music</strong> School ” <strong>Program</strong>. She has also been cited five times as “Teacher of the Year”<br />

at the local, district, and state levels, and was inducted into <strong>Missouri</strong> <strong>Music</strong> <strong>Educators</strong><br />

<strong>Association</strong> “Hall of Fame” in 2010.<br />
