As a co-founder of the Springfield Chamber Chorus, James R. Davidson has served as Conductor<br />

since the group’s inception in 2008. James graduated Cum Laude from the Honors College of<br />

<strong>Missouri</strong> State University where he earned the Bachelor of Science degree in Vocal <strong>Music</strong> Education<br />

in 2002. He also served as a Graduate Assistant in Choral Conducting under Dr. Guy B. Webb with<br />

the MSU Choirs.<br />

In addition to his appointment with the Springfield Chamber Chorus, James serves as the<br />

Director of Choral Activities at Ozark High School where he directs five auditioned choirs, totaling<br />

approximately 300 singers. Today marks James’ second appearance at MMEA, previously codirecting<br />

the Ozark High School Chorale at the 2008 convention. He is also Organist of the First<br />

and Calvary Presbyterian Church in Springfield where he founded and directs the Camerata<br />

Chamber Choir. Prior appointments include: Director of Choirs at Hazelwood Central High School<br />

in Florissant, MO, Choir Director at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Springfield, MO, Organist<br />

of the Bayless Baptist Church in St. Louis, MO, and member of the Saint Louis Chamber Chorus.<br />

Besides his accomplishments on the podium, James has received numerous plaudits for his<br />

keyboard work, accompanying several honor choirs and recitalists each year. James resides in<br />

Springfield, MO with his lovely wife Amelia and their black lab Freddy.<br />
